Hi all just purchased a neo geo mvs 2 slot cab and am learning I don't know as much about electronics as I thought I did. So far my first slot is working great however my second slot is giving me issues. The game loads and sounds and plays fine however I get lines on the screen much like an old NES that needs a new 72 pin. Its not a big deal but I'd really like to get both slots working. I cleaned out the slot with some computer duster and isapropyl alcohol but it didn't seem to make a difference. Any leads as to what to try next would be great. Thanks

There's no image.

You need to scrub the slot contacts. Use a credit card or similar with paper or cloth with iso and keep inserting it over and over.

If you still have a line problem then it is something else.

I've cleaned it a couple of times now to no avail. I don't think its the carts cause if you take the same cart and pop it over to the other slot it works fine. As far as the traces go I did just remove a battery in the very early stages of leaking, didn't seem to have damaged anything but I guess it could have had an effect on the board that I'm not seeing. As far as traces go, is there a link to a map of the traces and which ones in particular run the visuals, that way I could trace them and get a better idea of which one could be the culprit. As far as the NEO-257 custom IC being bad is there anything I can do to test it. Thanks for the help

Also I can't visually tell but it feels like when I insert a cart the slot seems pretty loose on one side, not sure what I could do about that aside from installing a new slot.

Same problem.

hey Temptest did you find any resolution to your problem? I'm a new member on here and and recently picked up a MVS two slot with an almost identical situation. I removed the battery which looked like it hadn't leaked to bad, and have cleaned the crap out of the carts and slots. I can't seem to find a broken trace, but don't have the most experience in boards(still learning). When I looked at the cab initially it had the problem intermittently and now its constant in all my carts and both slots. Any advice would be great.
