I think the prices are going up for none re-released stuff... however once the new carts hits... The original carts that have a new release will fall drastically.

If you have a bunch of carts that are seeing a price increase that will be re-released... and want to cash in... might be a good time to do that.

I fear nothing will fall drastically, on the contrary, we will see price jumps like never before.

It's the law of the reissues, I've seen this time and again in the video games and music electronics biz. Give them affordable reissues of expensive legends and the legends will become even more expensive because it not only attracts people who always wanted to play the games but also new collectors who of course will go for the real thing, plus the usual greedy fucks who can't wait to make life a little more miserable for us goobs with small pockets.

One thing is for sure, it's going to be a hot winter.

I think prices will go even higher, regardless if the game gets rereleased or not. Once people buy for X amount a product that is 30+yo there is no way they won't try and sell it at an higher price. These new carts won't replace the old ones, most people who jump in with aes+ will eventually want it all. Do not underestimate the "dormant" fans. If Aes+ sells even 30% as much as the engagement numbers on social platforms...I m sure old carts will become even holier grails.

Yeah people haven't learned from the Wii Virtual Console, haven't they? Where's my three fiddy Dracula X? :keke:

Not surprised to see commons on ebay getting expensive, reseller vultures were gobbling them all in Japan just a couple of days ago... a bit sad but don't really care since whoever wanted to have those carts had 30 years to buy them by now.

All this useless junk to say that...i think we all are "mentally ill" , some just forget that they are until they remember what was that made them have fun.
Now i expect "sweaty" reactions and such, have a go at my butt guys , my bad for exposing my cheeks
Nah, all good.
I guess a lot of people have had this kind of experience.
Modern games are usually not really games, but shitty interactive movies.

I am going to give you $35 for the BOX VERSION :geek: of Iron Soldier 2 CD. No takebacks. I also need you to sell me Gleylancer -- The original one, not one of the two re-releases.

This is a bit of a unique situation though... Theyre not like greatest hits versions... Or releases on another system... This is a re-release of the same cart. Its really the first of its kind.

Hot winter for sure though... I hope the originals retain their price... I dont want to see anybody here lose money.

Something is definitely up - at least going off ebay listings, even in Japan, prices are seemingly higher than ever.
Is it all speculators or people trying to scoop up the last of the "reasonably" priced OG carts before they are gone for good.

The games are the same but obviously not the same physically and that will always be the differentiator.

MBS just cornering the market to make sure common titles like SamSho2 and Fatal Fury Special look like an absolute bargain when Wave 10 is announced for 2030 at the new cart price of $149.

Just take the Atari 7800+ or various Mega Drive re-issues for example. A lot of 7800 games have been rereleased which led to the prices for the originals to go higher and higher. For example, before the release of the 7800+ you could get games like Donkey Kong, Ballblazer or Galaga for around 30 bucks, now DK carts usually go for >100, and rising. Xenophobe 150, Ikari Warriors 180, and the list goes on.

Then there are the MD reissues, which more often than not became almost as expensive as the originals, see the Toaplan rereleases of Fire Shark, Slap Fight, etc., or what about Mega Man Wily Wars, some transactions went up to 300 (!) bucks for a rerelease that cost 70. This is about half to two-thirds of the price for the real thing.

So no, it's not the first of its kind, at least not for other consoles. It's new for the Neo but the result will not be different than the MD or 7800+ reissues for that matter.

Ppl are crazy and have too much money.

They are 'greatest hits' versions. They're official repros. They aren't even SNK products, they are made by Plaion. The carts only have one chip per board. They're going to be light, different plastic, different packaging. The Retro Gamer interview makes it abundantly clear that they will be very distinct from the originals.

I doubt that reprints would have any meaningful effect on resale pricing. It hasn't happened with Wild Guns, Mega Man Wily Wars, Toaplan games, Holy Diver, etc.

Remember when gaming sites thought that the Earthbound release on the Virtual console would bring down prices on the original cart?

It's no different than if DC reprinted Action Comics #1 this year. There's already 1000 ways to access it, and an affordable physical reprint would be nice, but the original print would still be out of 99% of peoples price range.

Stole this from reddit. Seems to be usb-c powered. Shouldn't be any problem for flashcarts like the neosd pro.

That's another question- will the flashcarts, or all of the different MVS->AES converters, work fine on the AES+ console?
Is USB-C less powerful than the power adaptor that came with the original AES?
