Curious where people saw the AES in stores or rental shops. I always assumed it was mostly in larger metro or wealthy areas. I never saw one in the store in the 90s, but the area where I grew up fell into neither of those categories.

The only place I ever saw one was a NEO•GEO CD that I bought at a local shop.
Supposedly the EB Games in the high end mall had them but when I got there they had no clue what I was talking about.

AI generated thumbnails are giving this hellscape a whole new, fresh coat of gaypaint that makes me want to turn off the computer and walk into the woods, never to return.

That said, Plaion is teasing shit like a Waku Waku 7 sequel on X, so I'll stick around a little while longer.

Holy crap. Haven't seen that yet.

Found it: https://x.com/PLAION_ES/status/2051625023262077421

They even say "for AES+." That would be incredible - WW7 was fun as hell.

Most of my memories of Waku Waku 7 were the Saturn version.
This news makes me hopeful to get WW7 and maybe 8.

If Sunsoft or at least some of the original devs would be involved, I'm 100% down for it. Love me some WW7.

I guess what I wonder is if these AES+ versions are going to have the MVS games on there. They should re-release MVS games while they're at it because if they don't, Aliexpress will do it for them.

Around here in the middle of Nowheresville, NC the only time I saw an actual Neo system was in a case at the front of a Babbage's in the mall in the next town over. They didn't display anything else, but the clerks said they had a few systems and games in the back. They wouldn't even bring them out unless someone was a serious customer, and my broke 15 year old ass was not that.

The rental place I went to a lot had an owner who was a serious gamer, and he'd often get in weird stuff that was pretty much his personal collection, but you could rent it out too. He did eventually get a Neo bundle that was a system and three games but it was pretty expensive to rent and I never did. I think the games were Fatal Fury, Magician Lord and Nam. He never got more than those since they never rented it enough to even pay for the system.
