Everything that needed to be said was said when plaion announced the product. No amount of rumination can produce more information about it, what else is there to say anyway? it's a neo geo, it plays neo geo games, there are neo geo games coming.

People keep asking stuff that was already answered.

Nothing we didn't already know pretty much.

Lame. No new information whatsoever.
I want to know about new rereleases, compatibility with existing flash carts. Not answering these sounds fishy to me, as in they have no plans to do this.

Not surprising though, is it. Why would they care about flash carts as a business? Do you see any other console manufacturer supporting methods to not buy the games they produce for their systems, intentionally damaging their revenue streams?

Very likely Flash Carts will work given its a 1-2-1 mapping of the original electronics.

Flash carts worked on my shitty Russian Mega Drive X which had a Genesis on a tiny circuit board and only 2 or 3 chips on it.

I could see at least 2 differences, though. They may have decided to "softlock" some carts, and make them unplayable. Also, it's quite unsure the power supply the AES+ uses will give power hungry carts like the NeoSD the juice they need.

Did people really ask them if the console comes with a power supply???

One look at the comments and you just know there are going to be massive spergouts over nothing when this comes out. There are still goobs seriously asking if the cartridges are going to be identical to the originals with mask roms…

I don’t see why they would bother when this is extra engineering time for basically nothing that could also introduce issues to the hardware.

This isn’t the mega drive where you can buy flashcarts for $10 on aliexpress, I predict most people will not buy a NeoSD because of the price, most AES MVS owners now don’t. Why would they go after it?

(There’s also this implied understanding that most people will at best play a game or two casually for a bit then forget about it, like all retro rereleases out there… having a decent system to play with is already above minimum spec lol)

The idea that there exists someone in this thread who said a Neo-Geo 2 might happen bewilders me. All the crazies come out of the woodwork.
