Heres some footage and photos of a prototype in action. The design has changed since this prototype was made.

Yeah, I'd wait for the production model to get a review before handing over several hundred dollars. I mean, this is coming close to the price of the WiiU. The lack of new Neo games has given me enough time to laugh at how absurd the prices were to begin with.

I was just thinking.. Where the hell is the Neo-Geo X in that first video? It only shows the dock.

The dock opens up like a clam shell, and the hand-held sits inside. Not what I was expecting either, but pretty cool.

link no workie. what all did it show?

The page had some side-by-side shot with an actual NGH console and stick. The sticks are about the same size, the dock somewhat smaller. It showed the dock opened as well; The hand-held lays inside of it.

Thanks for posting. It's nice to see this device in action.

It's interesting they kept the "clicky" joystick. Personally, I love the Neo CD and Pocket thumbsticks, but I just hope they made them a little bit more durable this time around...

The big question... Will it support scanline emulation like Neo-Geo Station??

Looks like they've changed the gold lettering to white on the stick and removed it altogether on the deck.

I wonder if the dock accepts USB and they're actually using a PS3 Neo stick? Those extra buttons don't make sense.

Bet you ten to one there will be some serious collector faggots who will never open these.

Well seriously, you wouldn't want to get insertion marks on that beauty.

For the record, how did this suddenly get cool? Are people excited about the little card? I don't get it... It's not like it comes in a tiny home cart snaplock with a miniature insert that can get all fucked up and sunfaded.

That first video, just keep your thumb on the dpad when doing qcfs, I hate watching videos where I see that shit going on. Don't ask me why. Actually ask me why, it's because you can just keep your thumb on it, it's like removing it makes them think they are increasing momentum or something, when it does nothing except make you look like a moron. Same as people who use front facing game pad buttons like stick buttons and use them with their fingers instead of... one thumb.

Cough

Doing something like that to return the stick to neutral would make sense in a game like Tekken. Makes zero sense in a Neo game. That bothered me, too.

I remember a small shop in Akihabara, which due to space issues, presented on the shelf small neo boxes replica (like cigarettes pack)...luxuricious...hmmm...

You're nitpicking too much.

Because some people finally woke up into realizing this is not only a reality but an official licensed SNK product.

I don't get it either. It looks cute, but not $300 cute.

I nitpick because I care.

Officially licensed or not doesn't mean this is a well executed platform. I can think or more than a few companies who would license their name out to toilet bowl makers if they presented them with enough money.

I am really hoping that the final product's controller is closer to the original. I see no reason for the extra buttons on the controller if its intended to be a Neo Geo controller.
