I sometimes wonder if there has ever been anyone that came here completely new, unexposed to all of the lore of this place, and had their perceptions of it shaped by partial information.

Like, if someone still trusted TonK or Dion or thought putting feet on consoles wasn't gay.

I'm not really the guy to ask. I just picked up most of it through osmosis over the years.

And it's very likely no one else is going to care to coach you up. In fact, you might make enemies if you're trying too hard to fit in or understand this place.

Naturally, that leads to the next question you might ask:

Well, how do I fit in if no one will help me?

To that I say 'good luck.' You aren't owed anything in this place. That is just some hard truth for you to consider.

A long time ago in the before before time, there was many noobs. The noobs came, leeched and plundered the market hall and this made the forum elders sad.

The elders had a plan, why not go on a leech hunt and murder any noobs who were deemed unworthy of the market hall. And thus, the era of a purge was commenced.

Unfortunately the purge caused irreparable damage to the fabric (code) of reality (the forum) which still causes grief to the super elders (mods) to this day. Also, some rule was made in some forgotten chapter of the history of reality that you must write (post) enough that the elders of the forum might grant you a boon and allow your access to the market hall.

The truth is the elders may never like you, and thus you will never get the boon.

Only known exception is if you provide the elders with pictures of your wife's tittys.

The end.
