in the christmas get thread I mentioned sampling the neogeo chimes to make a beat with my new MPC-1000 and I didn't upload for a few weeks as I was too busy just learning and practicing with everything. I went back to those old samples I made on day one and finally made something to upload with them.

Still a noob but yall should appreciate this at the least purely on it's gimmicky nerd value :)

Man, the MPC timing can always be appreciated by a known user. It's just a certain sound and feeling it has. Still mess with my old 2000 :D good stuff.

haha thanks guys, I don't think I will fuck with the boot up song anymore, but I will absolutely sample plenty of neogeo and other retro game stuff for fun. I probably should have sampled some neogeo drums or something on this but ahhwell maybe I'll revisit later when I have a better handle on everything.

EDIT: cool stuff kidpanda, I actually was aiming for a 2000 or 2000XL but this 1000 popped up for real cheap because it had broken buttons and worn out pads, it still has worn out pads and I have to get the upgrade, but I replaced the switches in the broken buttons making it usable for the moment :)

I really want to get the EB16 efx module, but it's always so expensive :/

yeah I seen that thing... I think for more than I paid for my whole mpc.... lol

Mine shall be tiptop soon, new pads replacement from mpc-stuff.com is in the mail! so excited to use my WHOLE mpc lol

BUT I think I may have redeemed myself for the joke 5 minute neogeo intro thing I made.

This beat is 100% sampled from samurai shodown2 :) I actually put some effort in this one... I was too embarrassed to share most of my other noob stuff here but I think I did a okay job on this one!
