Yeah, he's a big question mark for me right now. I'll give him a fair chance once he's in charge of the creative side of things.

I know he will never do what I would do. But please...no more sequel trilogy stuff. It's not good and it can't be saved. It actually made the prequels more desirable lol

I think the safest route is continue to be checked out until something changes.
It's going to take 2 years before we get something that wasn't already in motion with the current organization.

Apparently, they're already moving to integrate classic trilogy characters and John Williams' score into Galaxy's Edge at Disneyworld. Vader, Luke, Han, Leia. Also Mando and Grogu, who aren't from that era but are a damn sight better than the faggy Disney trilogy.

How the fuck wasn't this part of the plan from the start?

Never mind. I think I know.

There are also rumblings that they are remastering the non-SE movie for the 50th anniversary...

I would definitely go see it in theaters if they manage that right.

No.

Mandolorian ended perfectly with Mando and Grogu sitting on the porch of their home. There is no story left to tell.

Besides, Karl Weathers is dead.

Yeah fuck going to the theater for that. I’d rather stick my hand in a blender then be in a packed theater full of the goobest of goobs.

Just to say you saw the OT in theaters? Nah, I’m good.

I’d probably buy them in 4k if they actually put out properly remastered versions with no bullshit or gimmicks and the price is reasonable.

Whatever they do I’m sure they’ll manage to fuck it up somehow.

Been watching the documentary series about ILM on Disney+ and it’s been surprisingly good. Very in depth with fantastic interviews and behind the scenes footage.

I just watched the first episode of the second season which focuses almost completely on Jar Jar. It’s honestly hard to watch at times. Not sure I’ll bother with the last two episodes.

It’s incredibly clear just how little of anything good is a direct result of Lucas. He gives people the opportunity to do great things and championed advancements in technology but his actual ideas are terrible. Honesty he’s barely involved in a lot of the stuff, he just shows up for a few minutes makes a couple vague comments while everyone nervously stands around and tells him yes. I’ve always known that but it’s kind of weird to see it inadvertently documented.

Lucas definitely deserves credit for having a vision and creating an environment that allowed incredibly talented people to innovate and push the envelope but as a filmmaker he is a fluke hack propped up by the talent of others.

Welp watched the last two episodes and I would say you can probably just stop at the end of season one. That goes from Star Wars through Jurassic Park, after that it’s mostly just digital stuff and a lot of mediocre movies like Episodes I-III, Twister and the Pirates series. The first season is excellent and highly recommended to anyone who appreciates old school effects work.

Season two also has a lot more Disney spin and it’s pretty obvious.

Hearing Lucas defending Jar Jar and using the Ewoks as a positive example is pretty funny. He really is clueless.

Triple post, suck my ass.

So apparently the OT is getting a 4k home video release later this year but it’s the Special Editions. Sigh.

As mentioned earlier they’re supposed to rerelease the actual non SE OT in theaters next year for the 50th anniversary. We’ll see if that leads to it finally getting an official modern home video release. But knowing these corporate fucks the SE set will be a trial run to see if it sells well enough to bother with non SE versions. I hate when companies do shit like that. It’s basically like here’s something you don’t want and since that didn’t sell well enough you’re not actually going to get what you do want. Backwards ass corporate think bullshit.

Much more likely this is just Disney looking to double dip because they know Star Wars fans are stupid enough to buy it twice. They don't give a rat's ass about what Lucas wants so they're not holding back the originals to make him happy.

I'd buy the original un-goobified versions for sure as I've just been using the same digital rips for years now.

What did we do to deserve this?

Looks dumbs as hell.
Apparently, we demanded better from Lucas and this is his revenge: selling Star Wars to faggits so that we would rue the day we ever asked him to leave.

Whatever. I'm 55 now. Star Wars is gay but not in the barely tolerable hyphen way.
