Nightmare in the Dark US Homebrew Artwork from 2001

Never made it far enough to make a manual to pair along with this fabulous artwork, but I developed a story for it, here is what I dug out of the archives.....
This is an old story, of ancient times when the belief in witchcraft poisoned the land, and no one was safe from being accused and summarily hanged! Whether the accused admitted guilt or pleaded innocence, their death was already sealed. It was a time of fear, mistrust and mass hysteria...
In a very small village located in a remote region of the countryside lived an ugly old grave keeper. His home was a decrepit corner of the village cemetery, and he feared the village people due to his very ugly appearance and a secret that he held. He, himself would become a victim of the witch hunt if the villagers learned of his magic cloak, as when he drapes the hood over his head, fireballs can be produced from his hands, for a warlock is what he is, disguised as a grave keeper!
One day he discovered piles of dirt scattered around the cemetery. First he thought that maybe the village kids had been playing jokes on him, but to his despair, he soon discovered that something far more evil was responsible! When checking one of the pits beside the piles of dirt, he noticed the casket was gone from in front of the grave marker. Checking three more pits, he found three more missing coffins! 'Oh dear,' he wailed! Someone had come and ransacked his cemetery and stolen some corpses!
Worried that the blame would fall on him, and that he too might be burned at the stake, he decided to try to discover and eliminate the evil forces responsible for these despicable crimes on his own.
Determined to solve the problem, he decided to patrol the cemetery every night starting at midnight to catch the perpetrators. One night he was lucky, or maybe unlucky... because soon he discovered a waking Nightmare in the Dark!
