Since I turned 30, I thought I was going to be a grumpy bastard that thinks that kids are being lazy and all sorts of shit. Turns out they really are.

An 18-19 y/o that came into the barber shop yesterday said that he quit his first job ever He stated that he didn't like the fact he had to work weekends and that it was keeping him from hanging out with his friends. When my barber asked him, "So what's your back up plan?"..the kid blurted out "Who cares. My dad's still giving me an allowance, but a lot less than my friends".

His friends (who also were in the shop) were older than him.

It's precisely because I have nothing (let's face it, an assault rifle, and three pistols, two boxes of DVDs, six retro game systems + games, a 2008 BMX bike... really doesn't count) that I can give them EVERYTHING. Everything being my time, making life *interesting* for them, spending whatever I do have to give on events and furthering their own growth into "social" people, who can view and/or "accept" life for what it is (a journey) and the people the must, can AND WILL deal with.

It's only when you've lost everything that you're free to do anything. In my case, I just don't care to put "much" (I stress Much) emphasis on things anymore. It's about many places and many faces. Finding and continually building upon one's center. When you know who you are, you know what to do.

By the time both of my kids are 18 and out of high school they will be much more well rounded than 95% of their peers. Shit, Fyana is already LIGHT YEARS ahead of most of her contemporaries, and really is bored with them, and can hold conversations with adults (just like me), as I break myself to see they have a better edumacation than what I did to surpass me. I have no time nor ties to the collective majority's "take" on success versus failure. I am me. I'm facing up to my own short comings, and I'm fucking levitating like a mah'fucking Knight in Wizards & Warriors with a potion, ejaculating knowledge to the night, kicking Debarge's ass in the rhythm of the night, and morphing into an F-20 Tigershark to link up with the F-18 that is Charlie Sheen.
