It was convention day yesterday in Belgoobistan.

Pixeldays 2025. This is one of the biggest retrogame conventions in Belgium/France. It is also the only convention where sellers venture outside the traditional SEGA/Nintendo/playstation.The plan was to hunt for a new Neo Geo AES game but I didn't see really anything worthwile. Last year I was able to snag up Sengoku 2 and the year before 8man.
I was set up as a seller but naturally also bought some stuffsies. Since this convention is reaaally big I was have trouble with sensory overload and I basically didn't know where to look.
First pickup 2 laserdiscs six euro a pop. I got rid of 95% my collection years ago . But couldn't resist these two titles. This was still all before opening.1B1DDC25-126B-4721-A889-00E90A53F18C.jpegFC6B74E4-9F93-44B8-BBE8-8A6180E63AEF.jpeg

there was a ton of laserdisc stuff but most of it is dubbed in french :(.

I sold some good goob stuff to the developers of the Cursed Legacy. And I immediately spent that cash on this Duo RX. It needs a recap and has some heavy scratches but it isn't yellowed and came with the controller and psu. €125

For 20 I picked up this SMB movie poster. I'm sorry I really like the movie. Never watched it as a kid.

The following hours were spent on helping out punters and goobs. As in true Belgium fashion the 5G network collapsed because of so many attendees which made card or digital payments nearly impossible and very frustrating. Cash was definitely king. Around 2pm I was finally able to go for a piss and search for some food. However I found a booth which had a lot of stuff that was close to my taste. And for some reason the seller was still maintaining 2005 prices. When I got back online after the event I felt kinda guilty for the guy. I mean these prices was basically stealing continued below......

€25

This last item is a pretty cool NES game. The first NES homebrew from Belgium. I chatted a bit with the developper and since the game was pretty fun I picked up a copy. And had the developer sign it. This is one of the cool aspects of this convention all French developers like Pixelheart and Broke studios are present.

Finally at closing time I went back to the same seller and bought some more goobage €100 total. Boglin was €30 probably overpaid but I was swimming in cash at the time.
Controller is the one included in the RX dealio.
And that completes Pixel Days 2025IMG_6031.jpeg

Just looked up Elevator Action Old & New on ebay as I hadn't heard of that one before. $700 for a CIB copy. SMH. I miss finding old games out and about, that is an insane find.

Game is hard, man. If you need any tips PM me. I’ve been compiling a little tips and tricks for noobs document for anyone that needs
I've been playing it and it was getting a little tedious until I got my first companion. Then the game got easier and a lot more fun.

Ive finished the game. I either played it wrong or it basically boils down to “max out all characters stats, run as fast as possible through area once you have memorized the map, then kill the boss.” I dont think i have ever played a game that bait and switched me so hard. First 3-4 hours were awesome with great story. Second half just completely dropped the cyberpunk aesthetic and most of the storyline with it. Felt almost like 2 partial games slapped into one.
Also please let me know if you get the good ending. I did not. In fact if i understand what it meant at the end, one of the things that will penalize you i dont even see a possible way to avoid.

I give the game a 6/10. First half 9/10 second half 4.5/10

Had one of these hats 20 years ago, it got lost by a friend at some point. I really don't remember which friend it even was or why he had it.

At the time I didn't even really know where/when it was from. Recently found out that they were available at the US debut ACME show in 1990 (probably afterward as well) and really wanted to find one again. Found a couple sales over the years, but wasn't sure how long I'd have to be looking until finding one.

This one popped up on Mercari last week though, so after a silly amount of money for a hat, hat has been acquired.

Here are a few goobs wearing the hat at the debut show from an industry mag's coverage.
