The only game I've ever enjoyed on the Jag. The Lynx was a better system. I'm not sure if people know that. I know it's a portable game system, but it has a lot of good atari games (arcade division) ports on there that have stood the test of time. I don't own one anymore, but I had one back in the day when it was new. Games I'd recommend starting with:

Stun Runner
Road Blasters
Blue Lightening
Ninja Gaiden (arcade port)
The lynx was designed partly by RJ Mical, who also worked on 3do 💃

I’d add Rampage and Chips Challenge to roker’s list of best Lynx games.

I had a lynx growing up and it was good…but…after the wow factor wore off on any new games I’d buy…I’d always go back to the gameboy.

There are GB games that I’d say are still enjoyable to play in 2026. I don’t think that’s the case with the Lynx.

Friend had a Lynx.
Only three games.
California games, sucked.
Some afterburner type game, the jet was blue?
Doesn't matter, it sucked too.
And Ninja Gaiden.
Based on the arcade,I loved this game.
Even more than the NES version.

California games only had four events on the Lynx, but it was very addictive. I knew someone who had it too. A good pack-in game.

Blue Lightning is okay.

You like the arcade version of Ninja Gaiden more than the NES one? I own the arcade board, and even I think we should ban you for this one.

I had a chance to buy an entire Jaguar collection, every game on cart and cd CIB a few years ago- knowing the market I probably should have bought it but just couldn't pull the trigger on it. I bought a copy of Raiden at a game store for like $5 bucks 15 years ago hoping to find a cheap system sometime and never did. I can't believe loose systems bring what they do now. Why Jaguar prices have outpaced other systems I just don't understand.

I didn’t know the Lynx was seen as the better system or even respected at any level. I guess I’m not hip to the jive. As a kid I loved the 5600 … if the controllers worked. I can’t bring myself to play the 2400 anymore.

7800 ain’t that good but it also isn’t the bad. Lynx was peak Atari to me. I regretted not getting a game boy or genesis back then.

Also fuck those prices on Jags. If anything you should regret not buying bitcoin not this bullshit.

For the record NES ninja gaiden is top tier but I loved the arcade version growing up. It’s what got me to buy the nes version (even though I knew they weren’t the same).

The 7800 mostly just fascinates me as the 'alternate timeline' 8-bit system next to the SMS and NES that I never got to try as a kid. I just remember seeing the very common four 7800 games in the bin at the dollar store in the mall, and being curious about them. Most of the games are prime jank. Not too long ago, it was very doable to have a complete collection.

The biggest issue or my biggest issue with the Lynx is how shitty the screen is. I remember playing one as a kid and being mad because I couldn’t enjoy the games because I couldn’t see shit.
It wasn’t until recently with screen upgrades where the Lynx finally became actually more playable. It actually has some decent games.

Man game.com was another shitty handheld that’s becoming expensive.

It wasn't that bad for the time. The Game Gear screen was worse.

A friend had one back in the day. We were forced to play it because he was only allowed one game system. You have a lot of good ones on that shelf. Ninja Golf is fun and I only played it via emulation in recent times.

Well, we'll never be short of things to stoke the fire with at your house, I see.
