Yeah but you had to play terrible games instead, it's ok, everyone in Europe has suffered that pain. Enjoy sf2 on Amiga while others play the snes one, magic pockets while people played super mario world. Convince yourself
The Amiga 500 came out in '87 though...

for more amiga horror, check out final fight.

...and they kept that standard for quite a while. few people owned a 2000, even less owned a 3000 and when the 1200 was released in 1992, it was pretty much already outdated.

Damn, that's a beauty... fully restored and with new cabinet decals, I guess? My TOM was cheap but in much worse shape when I got it.

What's your current pinball lineup? Of course I see a TNG next to it.
Thanks
for now its TOM/ STTNG /GZ Prem / Fish Tales/ Beetlejuice on the way.

What pins you keeping these days?

Too many pins... (takes a deep breath):

Attack from Mars, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Cirqus Voltaire, Doctor Who, Fish Tales, Funhouse, Indiana Jones (the Pinball Adventure), Monster Bash, No Good Gofers, Safe Cracker, Scared Stiff, Tales of the Arabian Nights, Terminator 2, The Addams Family, The Getaway, The Lord of the Rings, The Shadow, The Simpsons Pinball Party, Theater of Magic, Time Machine, Twilight Zone, White Water, Who Dunnit, World Cup Soccer.

I'm lucky to have a big space for my collection, but I say "too many" 'cause I still have to restore many of those, and it's gonna take me years. Here in Italy we don't have professionals like the High End Pins guy, and most collectors don't care about having a machine in top condition, so you gotta learn how to do it yourself. But it takes ages.

By the way, even with all the fancy titles, Fish Tales is still one of my Top 3 favorites. My first pinball machine, and a great one. 👍 I wish I could try a Keith Elwin pin (GZ is Godzilla, right?), sounds like he's become a great designer.

Yeah man that is one hell of a lineup you have going - I like working on them as much as playing them honestly.
Yes GZ=Godzilla, while its a great game there is so much depth of code etc, I'll probably never see half of it. There is something fun about the 90s era balance of shots and code that make it the sweet spot.

That's very true, I can't keep up with the deepest rulesets (not even with Simpsons Pinball Party). It also depends on what you enjoy the most: single player or competition with friends, where it's crucial to know how many points you need to take the lead and choose the risk/reward shots accordingly. I'd go even further and say that some machines from the 80s might ultimately hit that "sweet spot" you're talking about even more than the classic 90s titles. It sounds sacrilegious, but I'd probably have more fun with a Radical than with my Twilight Zone.

Your parents were idiots

Maybe, but I also learned to use a computer which Is still helping me to this day.
I used it to play games 95% of the time, but I also learned how to fix and maintain a computer and Operating System.

We live in an era where installing an Ipad app is considered a level of proficiency...

Eh. Just ignore him. He's made it clear he just wants to manufacture drama anytime someone posts in this thread.
I've suspected for a while now that Alec might be on the speccy.

But not the cool Takumaji speccy.

The kind that gets you picked on in grade school.

(Don't worry, Alec. You are still welcome to my gathering, but you must bring that Jaguar CD and all the games with you...)

God, I can't believe this stuff still pops up immediately in my brain.

PCE Works?

edit: Never mind. Read it as "New" and not "Super".
