Looks like a repro to me, this game shop you speak of has proper certification credentials?
Why do you think that ? They had a look with a magnifying glass to check the printing ink . I also buy my original neo geo aes games through them .

Only a magnifying glass? If you're not using an electron microscope then it's not accurate.

If removing the old BIOS is a problem for you, you can just add it over the old one like this: Neo Geo AES UniBIOS InstallI'm hoping to get a UNIBIOS installed on the system soon. I'd try myself, but my soldering skills aren't quite 100%. Hoping I can find someone to do it.
I removed my BIOS and just set a 40 pin DIP socket. Love to help but I'm sure there are others that have been here longer that can help as well.
I'm on the lookout for a Japanese one myself, love to have a US system but sure it goes for a lot more.
