Analog video games - Bought a fuckton of GW crap yesterday. Trying to give 40K a proper go. I've only played Blackstone Fortress, and that was primarily solo. But I found a dope game shop with a pretty good scene, so I am going to try and actually play the real deal with other humans. Dear jesus, I pray they aren't all booger eaters.

No, but worth it to me - biggest gaming regret I ever had was parting with my original X (which I bought from TonK) nearly 20 years ago.

Despite its ridiculous price tag it will get plenty of play, it's defo not come home to warm any shelves :)

Garou is slowly heading up in price as well it would seem... :(

Ha, not an easy catch... especially with all the fakes flying around! :uhoh:

Lmk what you're after - family are coming over to visit in early April so they can take stuff back to the UK with them... within reason of course.

Provided you're not after Slug 1 or something daft like that, if I can help, I will :)

That's more like it. Been seeing some ridiculous console prices, even here on the forum, these days.
They're on the rise in Japan... don't know what's sparked the increase as there's no shortage of systems, but for a nice, boxed AES, you're now looking at around 100k¥

Even CD systems are going up... especially CDZ.

Yeah, nearly all Yahoo Japan prices on old game stuff are way up. You might get a deal on Mercari if you're lucky.

I think US collectors have finally wizened up to the relatively siloed Japanese retro market. Even prices at Suru have risen across the board for Neo stuff - AES, Pocket, and CD. MVS cart prices still seem to be at a general plateau in that market, though, from what I've been able to tell.

I'm not sure it's actually primarily related to US collectors. It's a combination of a lot of things - Japanese shops getting raided for 20+ years by foreigners (and thus the games don't ever go back to circulation in Japan and overall supply of those games drops significantly), Japanese resellers realizing that they can flip Japanese games for nice profits on ebay (there's a whole group of them that don't even hold stock - they just relist stuff they've seen in other shops and only buy it if someone on ebay buys it - and cancel the ebay transaction if it's out of stock when they go to buy it) and because now you can shop almost anywhere in Japan from your house (plus there are still tons of foreigners in Japan who hit hard offs, etc. every weekend to buy stuff they can resell to their followers or on FB). Finally, shops in Japan aren't dumb, they sell a product, when the next one comes in, they push the price up see if it sells. Rinse and repeat. As to MVS, it's just not collectible - I know there's a small community that collects brown boxes, but that will never compete with AES for a collector.

Finally added this to my small collection of expensive super famicom stamped cardboard.

IMGP2193.JPG

I mostly have loose carts on that console, but this one I really wanted to be a sucker and have complete and in good condition.
Sorry about the lack of bare toes!

TBH, there can't be many games left you really want to buy? Looking at your collection you've got most of the best beat 'em ups... I can't see Waku Waku 7, Ninja Masters or Breakers. Double Dragon? I doubt you want Voltage Fighter, it's shit.

Few more shmups? Pulstar / Blazing Star? Another Slug? You defo need 2 or X.

I think I've got about 15 or 16 games to cross off... hoping to halve that by the end of the year. Then that's me done, because everything else I've got on Neo CD.
