Hey everybody, just wanted to keep you posted on my restoration project. I just finished replacing and fixing up the control panel.
I first started by repainting the thing.(thanks Jaelus)
to
Then I got PS-14 GN Seimitsu buttons which fit in perfectly and I actually did not need .110 quick disconnects. There were a few loose quick disconnects but I just crimped them and everything was gravy.
The more difficult part was the sticks. As you may know, Seimitsu plates are a bit narrow for Happ screws. I bought two LS-58 sticks and the appropriate SE variant P-40 plate
Following SSS's instructions, I dremeled in some notches. It was a bit sloppy but it got the job done. I was only able to line up 3/4 notches but the plate doesn't move at all.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! Since it was my first Neo Geo project and first time dealing with stuff like a dremel, spray paint, and a few other things, I'm pretty satisfied. There were a few sloppy errors but nothing noticeable.
Lastly, a big thanks is in order to all the people who have helped. Even if I didn't directly ask for your advice, I probably read a thread you wrote. This community is truly an invaluable resource!
