Small question..

Something I'm not sure about.. If you get an MVS adapter for an original Japanese AES console, and then buy MVS cartridges to use on it, do the games then allow you to pause or no? As far as I know, you cannot pause MVS games but you can pause AES games.. Does the adapter allow this?

Thanks!

cartridges contain both MVS and AES logic in their ROMs in 99.9% of times, the adapter won't allow it, the game will

Yes, it will run the same as an AES game. The way the game operates (pretty much all MVS games although there may be some that do not work on AES with converter) is determined by the system BIOS not the cartridge.

The data in the rom chips is the same in both AES and MVS games, it is only the system bios that picks how the game operates, this is the reason you need the converter as SNK made the cartridge pinouts different to stop arcade owners buying the cheaper AES games to use at the arcades.

Yes, it's the bios, not the carts. The MVS carts will play like AES games, with home options and pause.
