Yes you will get a password when you finish the 4th level. R-Type II starts with the 5th level. The CD version is probably better with an arranged soundtrack and an extra boss.

I am NOT a fan of the arranged OST. After playing the arcade and US hucard and countless other ports for years, that arrange OST grates my nerves for some reason.
