Sure, I understand what you are saying.

I tend to include handheld in the console definition, because I find them derivative from their domestic counterparts in hardware/software terms, probably is some sort of vexata quaestio, but not worth arguing, I suppose.

Vectrex has a poor library of course, but is the physical object that I find more close-fitting to my idea of "videogame": partially a toy, partially arcade, partially handheld, completely odd! Simple and clean gameplay and minimalist but sharp gfx...

If that's the case I would put PC gaming at number 1.

1. SNES (For the jaw-dropping impact it had at the time (F-Zero! SFII!) and for the wide range of quality games, it didn't just have arcade-style games)
2. NEO GEO AES
3. Sega Dreamcast
4. PS2 (Godhand, Gradius V, Ico, I could make a very long list...)
5. Xbox (Had a lot of games that were originally destined for the Dreamcast and you can play better versions of most PS2 games and add custom soundtracks to GTA San Andreas. Win!)
