I watched it. Good list but he went full on Metal Slug crazy at the end.

Why choose Puzzle Bobble 1 over 2?

I like that he put Top Hunter, 8 man, Neo Drift, Spinmaster, and Ninja Commando on there. I feel like we don't see those on many lists besides here on this forum.

Overall this wasn't that bad besides the weird faces he makes. I can't wait for Neo Alec's top 50 Neo Geo games video.

I think it's because Puzzle Bobble 1 was in way, way more cabs than 2 was and still is. In the rare instance I still see a Neo-Geo cab in a public place, it's almost guaranteed that it'll have Puzzle Bobble 1 in it.

2 may be better, but the nostalgia feels for 1 will almost always win out for many people.

No, John is a cunt. Period.

As for SLX - he does come across a bit more genuine than some, however, having watched his channel on and off for some years, he's really starting to scrape the barrel now in terms of new content and does rehashes of stuff he's already put out.

What's that other dude who's John Hancock adjacent...Riggs? He's probably the worst because he doesn't seem to do any research or play most of the games he talks about, he says things that are flat out wrong.

I also struggle to ever watch or listen to normies talk about any fighting game I've ever played competitively, they get so much wrong it's painful to me.

Retrobird is entertaining though, you can tell the dude plays his games instead of just collecting them and he leans into his nerdy, goofy sense of humor.

When you've pigeonholed yourself to just one company (with SNK being one of the very few exceptions he does), you're bound to repeat yourself. The well of games and info only goes so deep. YT's algorithm giving preference to constant content upload doesn't help matters.

Speaking of retro gaming YTers, NESComplex just dropped his first new video in years, and it's an absolute banger about Nintendo Power. The most comprehensive one out there.

He sometimes reminds me of that shape changer guy from that Star Trek... thingie space station series. Must be the eyes.

Ah well, I usually steer clear of top-something vids or lists, sometimes it can be entertaining but in the end, it's like Tarma said, all very subjective and really not that useful, even though he has a number off-broadway games in his list which is nice coz some of them are really good and deserve to get more attention, specially now that our beloved machine gets a new life and new fans will flock in. There's more in the Neo than just fighters and Slugs, eh.

Heh, nice one, yeah, that's the one.

I think there defo are similarities.

Watch Retro Bird transform himself into a Big Red or summat.
