Damn, just now noticed this thread. I dreaded that this would happen within the past few years or so. I am glad he made it as far as he did. Last time I talked to him was in the Chat with Abs while I was drunk off a bottle of wine. Talked about all kinds of awesome stuff. He will definitely be missed.

Geez, I've been out of the loop. I just found this out from bustedstr8 today. Though it had been over a year since we had last spoken at all (nothing personal, I've been absent in general from the community for a while now), my condolences go out to his family and friends.

He was always positive and a dreamer. I can only hope he got half as much of the enjoyment from the supergun I built for him as I hear.

been out of the loop here lately, found out about this today. Man this really makes me sad, I can't tell you how many hours I spent talking to Shawn or setting up deals and trades and just talking about games and life. I knew his health was bad. RIP man, may we play some TMNT arcade when we meet up again. :crying:

i just came across this thread today. I haven't been on the forums that much lately. Very sad to hear that another member has passed away. My prayers and condolences go out to his family....albeit it a bit late.

I just realized today I hadnt seen him in a while, I checked his page and saw the posts. sigh. Ill miss him a bunch. Thanks Mikhail for the pics and your presence there. I did get to meet him once with several other members here back in 2004/5 CAX. He was a great guy in person and, of course online. Again, he will be missed. He never spoke negatively, and was always light pleasant..

Every few days I'll see his sister or brother post a picture of the three of them back in the day and it appears on my Facebook feed. Reminds me of the funeral and saddens me.

Despite his disability, he always managed to have fun and enjoy video games.

I never really had a chance to get to know boog and it sounds like I really missed out on an amazing human being. He always had funny sigs and I enjoyed reading his posts, but it sounds like this community lost another really great person. I'm not a prominent member on the site; since our little one arrived I haven't been able to devote as much time to games as I would like but I will say that this community is full of ball busters, some of the best bullshit detectors around and some of the kindest most compassionate people. I never knew boog had health problems and in the posts I read he not once tried to extract sympathy from fellow members. He not once felt sorry for himself. It absolutely astounds me how gracious and amazing the community is here. That strangers on an internet forum would pool their hard earned money together to purchase a psp setup to bring some joy and happiness to somebody whose world was so limited. As somebody mentioned previously, I bitch and complain about my petty problems and here was somebody who always seemed upbeat even though he was dealt a pretty raw deal in life. Anyway, after reading through this thread I was taken back a bit by it. It was very heart warming to know that somebody actually brought flowers and a card with fond memories and condolences for the family from members on this forum. You guys are top notch. Sorry for rambling. RIP boog.

Just saw this now, so sorry to hear it. He was a very enthusiastic and positive guy, chatted with him a few times as we worked out some sales and lengthy holds : )

Very unfortunate to hear this. I did not see a mention of this on atariage (where I know him from)
Boog was awesome, we had many sales/trades with each other and he was one of those guys I never had to worry about anything with. Always a very positive attitude and just overall a great guy to know on the forums.

This is the first I've heard of this, guess I'm not online much. Man, what a bummer, we used to chat in the chatroom for years. It's hitting me kinda heavy. RIP Shawn.

I don't come around here often, and haven't for a long time, but I was very active here when Shawn registered. I remember him quite well, actually. He is hard to forget. He would sometimes tell us he had terrible medical issues, but his disposition did not match that at all. Back then, I shrugged it off as him exaggerating. Now, I realize that the dude was just an exceptional person to be the way he was given the actual severity of his medical problems. Not only was he not exaggerating, but he was probably understating what he was going through. It's too bad I stopped coming around here, because I missed my chance to get to know him.

9 May 2004,He was only 25, and it doesnt say how he died anywhere. Does anyone know?

hmm?? after my research it seems like kao megura has been dead for like ten years so people let him RIP?

I am not sure I've posted here yet so in effort to keepthe thread somber and respectful, I will say my small piece.
I had a small pm exchange with Boog once he was upbeat and super nice, a Good guy. bummer.

Over a year later, still just as sad. That guy's posts were the best. His sig was amusing too. It's awful to dig through the site's backlog to look up information and see one of shawn's posts, always his usual happy self. :(

This stills hurts. Boog always seemed happy and optimistic despite what life dealt him. People always suggested getting him a mame console, but being on the hunt for new games gave him something to do and purpose. I miss you, boog. This forum needs a little bit of happiness now that you're gone.

Boog was very patient on the forums even when he got in trouble multiple times for not finishing deals. I always felt sorry for him because he had to rely on money from relatives and his sales. And he never really had anything good for sale with very high prices. And he wanted a huge collection but had little money. But he never lashed out at people with profanity or anger. Instead he was gentle and kind to other members even when they insulted him. There are few people that can do that. We miss you boog!
