Just ignore him, he's a CD porting whore, with brain damage.

Oh, @h0ffman, game works fine on CDZ - I've been playing it on CDZ without fault since the last major update.
Hello friends, I tested version 1.1 and it is working 100% on the Neo Geo CDZ. The only issue I noticed is that in some stages, a few music tracks can take up to 15 seconds to start playing. Other than that, everything is very good.

Music taking a long time to start is disc access issues -- Likely not a problem with the game code. Use a better CDR, clean your laser lens, and make sure the system is in good working order.

A quick check- is it normal for the character to die after one life and go back to start/last waypoint? Seems like something that needs fixing?

What? In Shinobi? You always go back to the last checkpoint whenever you die.

Did they change the bullshit of not being able to continue on the final stage?

I'm 44, I can't handle that kind of arcade challenge without save states. :P

Never understood that design decision of disabling credits on the final stages of Shinobi. I get that it's to make you work for it but even that is too excessive i feel.
