wataru330 can't host this month, and since I've hosted April for the last few years, I figured I'll just handle this SOTM.

Last month it was nice to see G Darius in the vote, let's put it back on the ballot and see how it does.
Also adding Gradius Gaiden, Sonic Wings Special/Limited, Strikers 1945 III, and EDF: Earth Defense Force

Cast your vote! We'll run this through the weekend.

I'm in for some EDF. Never played it, looks funky.

Edit. I've also cleared Strikers 3 before, so if anyone wants to try to break my two month win streak it might be worthwhile voting for something else.

EDF arcade has a release on Switch and PS4/5. Though I'm going to vote Limited since I really should play it more.

Also, the SNES port is quite good.

I’m always trying to push different games in the SOTM. It’s Hit or Miss sometimes.

I thought that’s what we were talking about I forgot there’s an arcade version. If we go for arcade I have to get my raspberry pi working. I cleared it out because I needed the memory card for something else in a pinch.

We can run two score tables for arcade and snes versions.

You and Atro are free to run whatever entries you’d like when you’re hosting a month.

Dunno off the top of my head. I'll probably jam it on Saturn though.

Is "Limited" the arcade version consistent with the console "Special" versions?

I read on Shmups that they're not. We'll have to separate scores.

However, none of the versions is arcade perfect. They can't be, as there is no arcade game called Sonic Wings Special. There is a Sonic Wings Limited, but contrary to popular belief both are not the same game. Both are like remixes of the Sonic Wings series, but apart from that totally unrelated.

I couldn't find much else. Someone use their Google-Fu.

Scoring works differently as well. Special uses the usual catching medals higher on the screen for more points. In Limited, you get more points the longer an item lingers on the screen.
