A little something I've noticed on the boss of the Alpine armored train. If you shoot both of his pods off, they will regenerate, but if you only shoot one of them off, it won't come back and it's a lil easier dealing with the barrage from only one pod as opposed to 2 :)

But here's the rub, you can milk those pods for big points.

Here's my legit score guys, once again I sincerely apologize and did not mean to offend anyone.

I had set my goal at 500k. I learned a long time ago that the hokum is pretty much the best, but it's not my favorite. I've mostly been doing runs with the Commanche, and then the Apache, dunno why but I've always liked the lazers in these games (Aero fighters, Storm Blade). I made it to 495K with the commanche and plateau'd, so I decided to try a run with the hokum and managed to get my goal :)

something I've noticed, If I play Submergence city in the 3rd or 4th lvl, I will always die on the boss, no matter what :( if it's 1st or 2nd, it's never a problem

Awesome score brotha! Yea the hokum is prolly the highest scoring ship unless you have the stages full on memorized.

thank you guys!

Man, I really like the Commanche, I got to stage 5 with it, but I can't break that 500K with it :( I also have no hope on stage 5 as even on the DC child difficulty, I have never once beaten that robot spider asshole boss without continuing:blow_top:

started with Apache, but that only lasted so long... those homing missiles are just too great at getting rid of those pesky choppers during boss battles .

I tried to practice a little bit last night but unfortunately seems like i have to drop out the Naomi fun for a little while. My Sega JVS I/O is giving me problems again. I've googled it but can't seem to find info on the net about it, i can't believe i'm the only guy experiencing this...

Anyway, enough with the off-topic, i will open a thread about that.

Good luck to all, and have fun.

What's the problem?

I am always getting "stuck" inputs, i have replaced the responsible IC and solved it, but now i have a diferent input (down) stuck. I am wating for parts to try to repair it again.

The thing is, i have four diferent I/O and all have problems :(

I've had this game for years, but I learned something new today: When popcorn enemies fly in behind you, you can ram them and they die. :D

until you make it to level 5, you're not going to be able to score much more than ~100k per level. level 5 and above is really where the milking happens.

4 bad I/O boards is a lot of bad I/Os.

Check the voltage on the +5v line on the I/O board at the edge connector and the +5 voltage on the naomi mobo board at the filter board?

See if there is a difference in the voltage setting between the two boards.

Last time my cab had a stuck input it was just a mis-wired extra button loom that came w/the cab. Removed that loom and made my own and it's been fine since.

Put in a couple runs on this last night. Best so far:

Skate323k137 - 370,650 - 1-4 - Apache - NAOMI

This happens in different cabs, with different naomi (1 and 2) and with different looms. Voltage is fine, maybe just my luck :annoyed:
