This will sort of pique the interest of anyone who plays as Hibiki.

When in console mode [i.e. - playing on a system with a pause button], if you do her meter-charging taunt (hold start), and then pause the game but keep the start button held down, and then you unpause a few seconds later, the meter will be at a level as if it were charging during the pause.

So basically, you can start the meter-charge, pause the game for about 5 seconds, and then unpause and you will have a full super meter. I discovered this today when I was playing, great game.

I've been playing this shit for like, six years in total, i owned the Neo CD version of this like a couple years ago and I played the rom on and off. Last year i finally bought the jpn cartridge from Neo Mike (now known as Neo Maikeru), and goddamn, what a fine game.

You know, it's crazy to think about how long it took for me to get good at this game, i don't know about the rest of you guys but it probably took me six whole years (granted, of sporadic playing) to be able to get to Kouryu on 1 credit on level 8 difficulty. still haven't beaten it on 1 credit.

Digression aside, that's sorta interesting, right? I mean, it wouldn't affect vs. play because you wouldn't be able to do it in arcade mode and nobody in their right mind would let you just do that, but i think it could give a player an unfair advantage if they happen to be playing story mode.

I hope nobody's posted this already.

Nice.

Heh, no matter how long you own/play some Neo games, you will always find something new... that's one of the things I love about it. Does this work with other charas as well, btw?

I had a similar experience with AoF3. I had been playing this one for years before, but one day when I played with Kasumi and just beat the living shit out of my opp., her usual victory pose started - and then suddenly, in the middle of skimming through her dictionary, she sneezed and looked slightly embarrassed afterwards! I couldn't believe my eyes and ran to my comp to check out some docs about it, and after a bit of intarweb research, it turned out that this is one of those "surprise animations" which occur on a totally random basis. I've never seen it again since then.

Well, basically it's nothing special, but attention-to-detal like that makes you appreciate those games even more.

In your case, it's more of a flaw than a feature, but who knows, sometimes SNK went strange ways...

Well, thanks for caring...

Well, do other characters have meter-charge moves?

I'm not really privy to any, if you'd tell me some I'd be glad to test them out.

As far as i know, this little oddity isn't listed in any FAQs.

Yeah, and as for games and such...

Man, these games just don't get old.

These stupid, fucking fighting games. They just never do.

I picked up KOF2K last night, not having played it in years.

I'm beginning to favor it over pretty much any other KOF, it's sort of the series's last incarnation before it was sort of chopped up a little by Playmore.

I still think 2K1-2K3 are great games, but 2K is really something else.

I still don't have 2k1, '95, or 2k3. I might get them, but i dunno...

Kagami can charge his meter at will.

Do yourself a favor, and buy all three. You won't be disappointed my friend.

IMO, 2k1 picks up where 2k left, it's slightly faster and the improved striker system makes it shine like gold. On the first look, 2k1 isn't all that different to the prequels, but if you play it long enough, you will see that Eolith actually put a lot of thought into it. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Haven't played 2k3 long enough to come to a conclusion about it, but I kinda like it. The tag system is quite interesting (lots of huge combos there). Good game overall, except perhaps for the visuals, there's too much anime-style in it, but that's just a marginal "problem" I guess.

About 95 - just one thing: Couldn't live without it. Absolutely amazing game, and a near-perfect package of gameplay, graphics and sound. If I had to chose three games that represent all what SNK stood for, KoF95 would be one of them (together with FFS and Samsho 2).

I was playing AOF3 a few nights ago with my wife when I saw this same exact thing happen! It is a weird little thing I never saw before...and I've played the hell outta that game on AES, MVS, and NGCD....never saw it before until then. Are there other random animations like that in AOF3 that you know of?

Rumour has it that Karman and Jin also have them but I haven't seen them myself.

Gemant could tell us more about it, he knows a lot about secret stuff in Neo games.

I'll check that thing on Kagami.

Hm, I'll look into 2k1. Maybe.

2k3 is a little pricey right now..

see, I like 2K because the striker combos are ridiculous, and it's sort of KOF's last incarnation before the sprites were sort of well... "tweaked."

I was never one to outrageously gripe about Iori's or Vanessa's face (not to discredit any that do - I don't necessarily agree but i completely understand why this could REALLY bother someone), but without these little things it's just... a whole lot cleaner, you know?

and is 2K1 riddled with infinites? Then again, 2K has a lot of infinites too.

Now that you bring it up, I definitely want to play it again.
