Pretty ugly, looks like something some dude who just learned metal working in his garage would make.
Still totally want one and would gladly rock it out though.

First impression was that the design was so 'out there' that the critical country demographic would laugh it right out the door and never buy one. Then, I saw the part about the bulletproof body, which unlike the windows seems to be a solid claim. I think that a group of people who will buy the latest, greatest gun to get a slight advantage over the bad guys might just overlook the crazy design in favor of self-defense. Should be interesting to see how this turns out.

Looks like something I made for the pinewood derby in Cub Scouts.

Which I guess makes sense given Elon’s affinity for little boys.

There's a hatch/tailgate it the back that drops.
You can cover the back area or not.

It's like Brutalism Starfox: The DeLorean

Elon Musk's blatant mid-life crisis going well, I see.

It's weird to think how Elon billed this as extremely futuristic, yet modeled it on a movie from 1981. This would be like saying you wear very very futuristic sunglasses, and then whip out Doc Brown's visor from Back to the Future 2. It's silly, and hard to take serious.

This vehicle actually does resemble a truck from BR4029, and maybe the second version of it will look like Kup from TF: The Movie. But overall, this doesn't strike me as the future, or even current. It's ugly, and who knows how it will look when they add the stuff to make it legal in the US (like mirrors).

I think one done in all flat black with a 4 inch lift kit would look pretty sweet.

TBH Tesla’s current Model X SUV is ugly as well. The rising doors are interesting, but looks like a sterile bloated a Prius.

It looks like someone tried to make their own lamborghini by glueing panels to their citroen.

Tesla stock down more than 6% today, investors (gamblers) do not like this at all.

I don't understand why Tesla is going after the truck segment. It is a profitable segment but the buyers are very loyal to their brands (Chevy/Ford/Dodge). Given this is a unibody construction, no serious truck buyer would consider this a la Ridgeline.

it's massive, so it is a truck. the images are misleading. The bed is bigger than an f150.
I'm sure it's got way more utility than the styling suggests.

but,
I dont see middle class america wanted this over a standard pickup. I think they missed their target audience by a large margin. we will see.

Target audience is nerdy rednecks in their 20s who can't afford it. Then again, lots of truck owners can't afford trucks.
