Tbf this was specifically a mackerel fishing trip so I assume the guy steering the boat used some sonar shit to find a school of them (I have no idea how it works). It's an easy trip, 2-3 hours tops, guaranteed to catch plenty, I figured it was a good intro for the kids.Mackeral are bait in the States. My daughter landed a baracuda and a few red snapper at Scouts SeaBase this summer.
