Get Out should be on the list somewhere. I thought Us was decent enough but not as good.

I'll do my best

In no particular order

Ghostland
Hereditary
Creep
Suspiria 2018
Don't Breathe

I'm sure I could change a few things up but those ones stood out off the top of my head

Texas Chainsaw gets an honorable mention because it's trash but good trash. It's a great movie in spite of itself.
Oh shit and Happy Deathday and Cabin in the Woods but they're a bit too comedic to make the cut, at least with me.

Yeah, right? Liked the second one too. I like the fact that they are indie type films which tend to try and be cute and end up massively pretentious - but horror so yeah, spanner in the works

Any lists without Get Out are immediately suspect.

Although Happy Deathday is in the horror genre , it felt to me at times like it was a comedy.

Hereditary is a movie that felt like a true horror movie. For example, I would put Hereditary in the same class as something like The Excorsist and would put Happy Death day in the same class as something like Scream. Suspiria also has that true horror vibe.

I'll add Willy's Wonderland. It isn't that true horror but a fun watch.

I liked Mandy. That one seems to fly under the radar. It's like a horror movie on acid. Those biker dudes though.

I have to check out Green Room. I don't think I've seen that one yet.

I only saw Mandy once but I loved it. It feels more like an acid trip action movie than a horror movie, though.

Thread should just be best horror movies made in the last decade. 5 is really limiting.

I agree with a lot mentioned and I'll add:

One Cut of the Dead
The Babysitter
Drag Me to Hell
Horns
Overlord
Final Girls

Maybe you're right but this is a high concept thread. Didn't want long lists of films just pasted on here. A little rigueur goes a long way

Invisible Man is a piece of shit.

Here's why:

1.) The main woman is neither interesting or attractive enough for that guy to be that obsessed with.
2.) When she's fighting him all I can see the actress screaming and flailing around on set by herself.
3.) They made the invisibility a suit (a stupid looking one at that). That completely removes half of the sense terror.

You want a personal top 5 then:

It Follows
The Witch
Cabin in the Woods
Tucker and Dale vs. Evil
Suspiria remake (I really disliked this one at first but it grew on me with a second watching)

I just didn't want everyone repeating the same handful of movies, then maybe we could all find new stuff to check out.

I thought Invisible Man created great atmosphere and the art direction was on point. Your gripes seem reasonable to me
