No 3 Count Bout video quite yet, but in the meantime, here's something new:

Project Neon looks promising and i wish the team all the luck!
I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, the dev is taking a risk by releasing a tate shmup on an ecosystem that wasn't designed for them. On another hand, the Genesis shmups that are due for release soon like Earthion and even ZPF blow this away graphically. They will likely blow it away audio-wise as well. The SNES has Rex Nobilis, a shmup in development that looks similar but still superior to this and isn't in tate mode.

A high priced Neo cart only game that is graphically inferior to games on less powerful consoles that is also forced into an orientation that most people can't use is going to be a hard sell imo.
Well, ZPF is being done by the same guy who did Tänzer for the Mega Drive with artwork by Gryzor of Neo/Super XYX fame, while Earthion is a return to form from a former official Mega Drive developer. Rex Nobilis is also one that i'm really looking foward for the SNES not gonna lie :D

And if I can also state the obvious, there's no game that's worth $400. This is definitely not for everyone.
Yes and no. If I am to believe what I've read from various sources, then the cart hardware and manufacturing are a large part of the cost. The issue is that not everything needs to be put on a cart. If the dev is doing it purely out of love of the hardware, then great, but if they are trying to turn a profit purely on AES/MVS sales, that's going to be a tough sell, especially within a niche of a niche.

There is a lot of talent behind those releases. The insane part is that you'll likely be able to pick up all 3 of these releases for less than Project Neon and still have a good chunk of change for more great games. Maldita Castilla and Super Hydorah could be amazing Neo games if they ever happened.
