Garou used to be $60 cart; 4-5 years ago and was really at the higher end of fighters even at that price. It's just steadily gone up, but forum sales, particularly forum-friendly forum sales still see it get posted and sold in the $130-150 range.

Out of curiosity, are there other forum friendly sales other than here?

This. My MOTW came from Mexico City (via ebay+paypal) and everything went smooth. Got lucky.

Is this normal? I thought prices were generally low in Febuary. Garou I Can SORT OF understand, because it was a late release, but I've seen wind jammers carts with serial numbers as high as the 30,000s. I would be surprised if they made at least 50,000 of them. When wind Jammers hits Money Puzzle Exchanger Prices, we're going to see some serious shit.

Garou is selling real high, that's why I brought that up higher up in the thread. For a US copy with good label that's the price yep. It's gone up over the past 6 months for sure. I've seen some go for over $300 for a loose cart.

Serious shit seems dramatic, but you're right prices are on the rise in a short amount of time. I've been scouting a few titles I've been interested in and their values on about 1/2 of them aren't near what the ranges are on this listing that was last updated 4 months ago now.

Notes of interest:

Neo SD seems to really slowed MVS prices. This was the first update that a good handful of carts stayed the same, or went down. Only a few went up, the "very very htf" and the "very htf and very good". TSS, Ganryu, Windjammers. Real Bout 2, Top Hunter, and Cyber Lip maintained a modest climb in value. Some "rare" titles appeared less so - multiple sales of Money Idol and Waku Waku saw them level out.

I removed the NGDev titles for now due to the reprints and to avoid any confusion until a market develops for 1st run v reprints, etc.

AES high-high end saw limited sales as usual. There were a few on YAJ, Nin-Nin, Shmups and here. A few ebay sales of "I think it's original, but I have not opened it" confused the market. Both Shock Troopers 2nd and Blazing Star had this happen. Either folks got steals, or the paid over a grand for a conversion.

For the most part AES continued to climb, certainly more than MVS. Most were modest - the KoF series was a bit surprising, almost all titles saw 20% increase after holding mostly steady during the last update.

I'm surprised at how the price for Windjammers still seems to rise, you'd think it would be exactly the kind of game to level out/drop since so many people who bought it did because they weren't able to play it on the 161-in-1. There sure are a lot more listings for the game on eBay than pre-NeoSD though.

What's surprising to me is it isn't uncommon. Bang Bead, which is a similar, but a better game (imo) is very rare, and yet still hovers in the mid $100 range, where it's been for a few years.

Hype makes all logic go out of the window when it comes to old games, I guess. It seems like all those games that had a resurgence in popularity are impossible to get back down again. If NeoSD doesn't do it, nothing will.

JP versions of most fighters: $10 and under.
NTM/BTG: Too freakin' much.
Slugs: $100/ea.

MVS guide looks spot on to me based on the prices I've seen the last 3-4 months.

you remember where you found Masters of Shogi for AES as a reference?

the last ones I know of went all somewhere between 3000€ - 7000€ depending on condition.
