Hi Everyone,

I converted a Virtual Boy into an arcade cabinet inspired after Atari's Battlezone.

Ha, that seems almost a better product than the way it was actually released (the big "if arcades weren't dead in the water at the time"). Small footprint, arcade setting would allow for limited play time with (probably) fewer complaints of headaches. I could only imagine someone falling over and taking the machine with him, though.

Now just make it a multislot and you have yourself a winner. *wink

Well done.

Very nice!

holy shit! that is crazy-awesome!
i always kinda liked the virtua boy, though games were really hard to find.
the way i solved the problem with the shitty stand was to just lay down on my back, and rest the thing on my chest and face.t
hat is a MUCH better solution though, good job.

I liked Virtual Boy because I got it and 2 games for $50 after it bombed. Then picked up nearly every game for like $3 to $5. For a kid with limited funds... this was amazing.. like a holy grail.

I played mine quite a bit... maybe too much because it would often give me headaches and make me violently ill... but I still kept playing.

I would have liked it alot less if I paid full price and got burned. But for a cheap good time, how can you really complain?

So far I really don't like my 3DS, i'm sure I'll like it more over time. But as of now I think more fondly of the virtual boy.

RIP Gunpei Yokoi.

Yes I saw that. How do you print onto metal like that?

It is a neat rick I came up with. I printed it on clear full page shipping labels from staples in my laser printer. I applied it to the aluminum, and then since the label is matte finish, I then coated it with a Krylon Triple Thick clear acrylic.

Love it. You should (if you can) wire the sound to external speakers. I would also buy one of these

Damn shame there are so few games for it, though. Had a lot of potential. Reminds me of the Hyper in that regard.

Awesome. I love the buttons on the side like your Baby Pac-Man for Galactic Pinball and the plaque on the back for Gunpey Yokoi is the icing on the cake. I think he'd love that. Makes me want to pick one up to play some Wario and TeleroBoxer.

I want to mock it for being virtual boy, but its so well done I can only applaud the work you put into it. Now its more of a novelty arcade experience than a joke of a portable.

Nice work. Though it does look a little top heavy.
