Step by step, what is the best way to go about testing voltage on my power supply? And what should my voltage be between? My old one called it quits, and I know how to install the new one, but I don't want my board to fail early because of voltage issues.
If anyone can help with this, that would be great! Thanks.

Check the 5 volts at the boards jamma edge connect not the psu as there will be some voltage dropped in the wiring harness. It should be a whisker over 5 volts (5.1 volts is good imho)

Jamma edge connect? Sorry man, I'm pretty green at this shit. And electricity ain't my thing. What should I be looking for?

The JAMMA edge connector is the thing that you plug onto the moterboard inside the cab.

It's long, often blue and has many wires attached to it.

Pins 3+4 are +5v and pins 1+2 are GND (mirrored underneath).
Take your voltage reading from here.

I say it's always best to go with the lowest voltage your board can use.
Start at the bottom and if it doesn't boot and run, work your way up.

My MV-1F runs on +4.5v at the edge connector.
