A barcade is opening downtown. I emailed them to see if they wanna buy my cabinets and they are interested. How much should I ask? I'll also sell to anyone here if you happen to be in the area and interested.

The Neo Geo is 4 slot, I think from '89. The screen is darker than desired (turning up the brightness adds bleeding). The marquee lights are disabled because of the noise they make. And the memory that saves data needs replacing.

The blue one is a dedicated CPS 2 with a perfect like new bright and crisp monitor and great sound. You don't see many old cabinets as nice as this one any more and I'm really curious what to ask for it.

The black one is an old Jamma that was maybe once Sunset Riders? The screen is at a slant which I don't really like. The back is held on with duct tape, but other than that everything is fine.

So, around what do you think should my asking price be for each cabinet?

I would say $3k for all 3 or $1100 on the Neo Geo, $1400 on the Big Blue, and $900 on the Konami 4 player cab.

I have games. I figured I'd sell the games separately. He just got back to me and offered $1,500 for all three. Seems a little low, but I was the one contacting him trying to sell my stuff. Maybe I should make a counter offer. I figured a discount is in order if he buys all three and picks them up. What do you all think my counter offer should be?

For those curious, my games are Street Fighter Alpha 3, Vampire Savior, Progear (Phoenixed). Radiant Silvergun, G-Darius ver. 2, TMNT arcade, and these Neo Geo games pictured

Definitely sell the games separately. Unlikely you'd get fair market and they are obviously much easier to ship.

$1,800 cash seems fair to me if he picks them up. Show them working, get the money in hand, then have them loaded up. If you let him load first it is a common tactic to offer less at that point. "Eh, didn't know how dark the monitor was on this one, this one needs more work then I was planning. I'm thinking $1,400 is more fair" (thinking you won't want them unloaded, etc).

Good luck.

Your Big Blue is the one that's got the value. With the CPS2 games you have I feel like that one is worth at least $1,500. If the Neo didn't have the monitor issues that would get you a decent amount as well. If your other cab had a 4 player setup, that would also be worth more. Anyway, as is, I think $1,800 - $2,000 would be closer to fair. Just one game in the big blue and converted 4 player cab, your 4 cheapest carts in the Neo. Definitely sell the rest separately. I wouldn't even mention the additional games to the barcode owner, pretty sure he'd just try to low-ball you. Ultimately, it's up to you, sometimes saving time but losing money is worth not dealing with the headache of tire kickers and getting rid of them in one shot. Good luck.

Looks like it's happening. We agreed on $1,500, games sold separately. We both agree that price is a little low, but they are already over budget having just bought 50 cabinets for the business. It's worth it to have them gone hassle free. Plus they are going to a local business where people will enjoy them and I can even still see them. Oh, and I get a free pizza party there, lol. Assuming everything goes alright when he visits tomorrow, it's a done deal.

Thanks a lot for all the price and sales advice. I love that I can count on the people in this forum for useful expert arcade advice.

They are sold and gone. I don't mind so much the good deal I gave. He came and got them outta my house and paid cash. Simple, easy and I can move on. But yeah, along with those cabinets went a chapter of my life. I wanted them gone, but I used to be passionate about arcade games. Cleaning/fixing up them up of course brought back memories of my love for 90's arcade games. I can always emulate but I won't ever feel again the warmth of a crisp CRT as a wipe the screen down. Well probably not. I did talk with him about doing a few shifts at his barcade for nostalgia's sake.

It always feels weird when you sell off cabs you've had for a long time.

Oh wow I can't believe I missed out on this. I'm local too. Needed a neo geo and big blue.

I went to the grand opening on Thursday. Was your big blue control broken on the 1st player when you sold it? It's a nice cab, they have puzzle fighter on it.

Thanks for coming! I ended up working a couple shifts there but loved it so much and my arcade knowledge proved so useful that I'm now doing 20 to 30 hours a week. I love it so far and am getting training in arcade repair.

Was able the fix the 1P joystick today. I've been real busy helping get the out of order games running and haven't has as much time as I'd like to work on smaller issues. These games break so fast!

I've been cycling my games into my old cabinets so the Neo Geo games will change from time to time. Right now the Neo has Bust a Move, KoF98, Metal Slug X, and Aero Fighters 2. And I put Alpha 3 back in the big blue.

If anyone else in the area is interested in checking it out, it's called Legends Arcade and is in downtown Olympia, WA. Oh, and I'm Mick.
