Back on topic, my wife and I have boiled down our choices over the years.

Buffalo Trace or OGD BiB for bourbon
Suntory Toki for a solid highball
Costco anjeo tequila (surprisingly solid)
Scotch? Eh…I still like the Glens, JW green is another favorite.

Any messages for Sylvie you'd like me to pass along to her?

My go-to bourbons as of late are by 4 Roses. I like the Single Barrel and Small Batch Select. Not to be confused with the regular Small Batch, which is not great imo.

And I cant get enough Glenmorangie 12 year Sherry Cask. I dont know what it is exactly, but it's heavenly to me.

I dont think I've ever tried JW Green. I still have some Blue left though. Bust it out every now and then if company is over. Bought my dad a bottle for his 65th last year as well. He was pretty excited about it. Shit is more expensive than it used to be though, for sure. But then, what isn't nowadays?

4 roses is a bit heavy rye for me, but they do make solid stuff.

I love glenmorangie quinta ruban and their
nectar d'or is also amazing, but $$$.

Honestly, I’m not a big JW fan, but the green really is solid, and a listed blend of 4 vs their other mystery offerings.

I’m not much of a bourbon guy but this was gifted to me at my recent 40th bday. I got into it last night and while I don’t like it as much as scotch or even Irish whiskey it’s 90 proof and did the trick.

We've been diving back into scotch and whiskey lately. Last night I enjoyed some Dalwhinnie Single Malt, followed by Suntory. Delicious 🤤

I love a Dalwhinnie as well. Visited their distillery last year. Here’s where your bottle came from.

The guide mentioned that due to the micro climate geographical features of where the distillery is located, it gets very, very cold in winter even by Scottish standards. Apparently this has a positive impact on the flavour. (But of course they would say that.)

I said to myself this month was sweet berry wine month but this thread makes clear my decision was short sighted and terrible.
