My prediction:

The karate teacher from UHF will pop up on stage and go "SUH-PLIES! It's already in stores!"

11/1 sounds fine to me, since a good number of games on the eb site are slated for that date. Though Metroid being released on 10/1 was kind of confusing...

I'm on the official "I'm trying Zelda on my friends Wii and then I'll decide" bandwagon.

I just got myself a 360 and with the games that'll be out for it at that point, I'm highly tempted to just get Zelda for the GC and wait on the Wii.

EDIT: I just realized something relatively sad. If Zelda wasn't coming out on the GC and Wii, I would get a Wii on release.

I take it that release date is a US release date or is it a worldwide release date? Europe always has to wait ages after Japan and the states:crying:

November not September.

Oh ok that makes more sense I suppose.

I wonder if Nintendo or anyone else will sell stickers that say "Revolution" so we can paste them over the "wii" labels. Nothing can be done about the "wii" in the games though.. too bad.

Those prices are fine by me.

The system is more than I was expecting, but being an adult who works 40-50 hours a week, I don't really see spending an extra $50 forcing me to eat nothing but Ramen Noodles and tap water for a month to compensate.

I agree. I really don't see a problem here. I had to buy a bundle last year to get a 360 at launch and that was a lot of money.

199 quid would be brutal. That is like $375. I hope Nintendo comes through for you guys this week.

I paid £250 for an N64 without a game and that was after two or three price drops :crying:

I think £199/300Euro sounds about right tbh, nice round numbers to rob us with.

Can it only connect to the Internets with wifi, or can you use a wired router?

Still looking around for CDN pricing... I'm guessing 299$CDN for the console.

Futureshop and Bestbuy.ca are now listing all of Wii games as 69.99$CDN. (OUCH!) With a release date of all games Nov 30th?
Titles:
-Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles - The Crystal Bearers (Nintendo Wii)
-Sonic Wild Fire (Nintendo Wii)
-Super Mario Galaxy (Nintendo Wii)
-Tony Hawk: Downhill Jam (Nintendo Wii)
-Wario Ware: Smooth Moves (Nintendo Wii)
-Call of Duty 3 (Nintendo Wii)
-Excite Truck (Nintendo Wii)
-Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (Nintendo Wii)
-Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (Nintendo Wii)
-Project H.A.M.M.E.R. (Nintendo Wii)
-Red Steel (Nintendo Wii)
-Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz (Nintendo Wii)
-Super Smash Bros Brawl (Nintendo Wii)
-The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Nintendo Wii)

ToysRUs.ca says the release date is Nov 17th. I guess they all need to sort things out a bit more.

Amazon.ca has games listed for 59.99$CDN:
-Banyard
-Cars
-Happy Feet
-Red Steel
-GT Pro series.

Hopefully Amazon has the correct price point and FutureShop and Best Buy.ca will drop the prices... *crosses fingers*.

Hmm... 2000 points = 24$ CDN so 6$CDN for NES, 12$CDN for N64...

I'm not preordering, so I'll just wait and see how the pricing sorts themselves up. If I've got spare cash and I'm still interested I'll go for the Wii, otherwise I'll wait a bit (price drop, etc.)

What a load of crap.

So in reality they should call it Wi instead of Wii with one control per console.

So in reality the system really cost $310 because who the hell want to play Wii tennis (a freakin pacin in game) against the computer?

I thought the whole point of Wii with two "I's" was to get people to play together and they dont even include 2 controllers?

$60 is nothing, but it is the principal that counts.

Wii-tarded

I lost all Wii-spect for nintendo with their Wii-diculous console with their Wii-diculous prices. Let the world Wii-p after Nintendo later anounces that they are officially chaning their name to NE$ and comes up with the slogan "All your money belongs to Wii"

Nintendo deserves to be last in the console wars.
