I find the forced Level 8 setting on the 120-in-1 to be the most annoying as it makes the games pretty much unplayable. >_>

It should take you only 10 minutes to change the levels back to whatever you want. It was the first thing I did.

I can go into the service menu and set it so it says "Level 4," but the 120in1 cart itself displays "Level 8" on the screen. I've tried a couple of things and they never seem to work on the cart I have.

You need to set hard dips 4 and 5 to change the difficulty setting on the 120 in 1 cart. They are hard coded into the cartridge and this is the only way to change it.

Is it not enough to do this trick? http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?254652-120-in-1-difficulty-settings-erm-settings&p=3800640&viewfull=1#post3800640

What do Hard dips 4+5 do when it comes to saving the settings?
Also, which games show difficulty lvl on the title screen, I’d like to figure this out too.

Because that trick doesn't always work. There are explicit instructions that come with the cartridge that tell you to use dips 4 and 5 to change the difficulty.

Even if they made one that had less of the hacks I'd be happy. I'm still considering getting one due to the price but it just sucks games like Twinkle Star Sprites, Windjammers and Magician Lord aren't on the cart. The only hacks I care for are the SamSho V Special hacks that bring the fatalities back and SvC Plus because you can pick every character without having to put those long ass codes in. I could care less about the dozen King of Fighters hacks and Metal Slug "sequels" that are on it.

Okay, I'll give that a try.

Pulstar is hard enough on Level 4. Level 8 is practically unplayable... >_>

Thanks shadowkn55, worked like a charm I set all the games to defaults now. I overlooked the instructions on the sticker on the cart like the noob I am :make_fac:

Turf Masters shows the difficulty lvl during gameplay, though it was pretty obvious in ghost pilots when everything wasn’t shooting warp speed bullets from the get go :lolz:
