President Trump has told confidants he'll declare victory on Tuesday night if it looks like he's "ahead," according to three sources familiar with his private comments.

That's even if the Electoral College outcome still hinges on large numbers of uncounted votes in key states like Pennsylvania.
Behind the scenes: Trump has privately talked through this scenario in some detail in the last few weeks, describing plans to walk up to a podium on election night and declare he has won.

For this to happen, his allies expect he would need to either win or have commanding leads in Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, Texas, Iowa, Arizona and Georgia.
Why it matters: Trump's team is preparing to falsely claim that mail-in ballots counted after Nov. 3 — a legitimate count expected to favor Democrats — are evidence of election fraud. (...click article to continue)

I feel it doesn’t matter who wins, America is headed for a civil war. I hope I’m wrong.

I dunno I just read 2 articles that said he's down by 10%+ pretty much nationwide right now.

It's sounding like he'll need only his voters to show up and nobody else and the system to work smoothly and get everybody through even though he's tried to blow it up.

I think he's going to go the other way and won't concede. He'll actually want to not have the election called on Tuesday night, have recounts everywhere and make sure all the mail-in absentee ballots are counted even though he's railed against all that stuff for the last year.

Just saying it doesn't sound like there's any sane way for him to declare victory of election night. He isn't sane though and neither are a number of his members but I can't picture even Fox news broadcasting that without interrupting him and giving fact checks and disclaimers.

Not happening. The most that will happen is either: more BLM+antifa protests like the past few months but maybe kicked up a notch or two (Trump win), or a small handful of Waco Texas style incidents in various parts of the country (Biden win).

From main forum page I keep seeing this thread title cut off at "premature" and it's doing a number on me.

Just to be clear on my post earlier I was talking about early and absentee voting not polling.

I can't find the articles again but here's an example of the totals so far. Should give you a good idea. Still be sure to vote though (especially if your voting for Biden). Also exit polling is showing Biden doing better with independents than average polling.

This is early voting and received mail in ballots as of last night

Party Count Percent
Democrats 21,420,478 45.3
Republicans 14,372,789 30.4
Minor 314,104 0.7
No Party Af 11,172,295 23.6
TOTAL 47,279,666 100.0

It doesn't mean anything if Trump declares premature victory.

I watched CNN for a maybe twenty minutes today and they played a few minute long live clip from a rally and Trump sounded like he was giving concession speech.

The narrative stated was he's going to lose because Twitter and Facebook censored or fact checked the New York Post story about the Biden laptop. There's no freedom of press anymore and the news media is against him.

Does it matter if he declares premature ejaculation to be a sign of virility, actually?

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...llots-count-supreme-court-biden-b1581628.html

Donald Trump prematurely declared victory in his fight for a second term against former Vice President Joe Biden, saying he is poised to ask the Supreme Court to halt all vote-counting even as ballots remain untallied.

“Millions of people voted for us tonight. A very sad group of people is trying to disenfranchise that group of people,” the president said from the East Room of the White House. “And we won’t stand for it.”

in 2012, the popular vote was 65m (for Obama) to 60m (for Romney); in 2008, it was 69m to 59m; in 2016 it was 65.8m (Hillary) to 62.9 (Trump) - right now the vote is 68m to 65.8m. Doesn’t anyone else think that for an election that isn’t done yet, that number is a lot higher than it should be? And we haven’t counted all the mail ins.

You thinking Russia/China tampered with the votes?

Because I am still fucking dumbfounded Trump has, as of now, 66,725,553 votes. What in the fuck. Over 66 million Americans think Trump is better for the job than Biden.

I guess all those approval ratings that hovered around 40% were bullshit. None of this makes sense.

I don't think a foreign country had to tamper with the system. But I do find the shear number of votes in many states concerning.

So for the record, we got a definitive "yes" to the question in the OP.

It is really remarkable, at least, that Biden and Trump have, easily, the most and second-most votes for candidates in history, respectively. Trump can actually say he got more votes than Obama ever did.

That is really remarkable. Also, amazing to see Texas, which had 8.5m votes in 2016, turn out 10.9m yesterday, and not be done counting.

Florida with 9.1m in 2016 has already counted 10.8m from yesterday - and also still counting.

I'm not going to say it's foreign interference. But something is off with the polling. There are too many unexpected Trump voters again.

Forget recount drama. Get ready for drama about the ballots USPS failed to deliver.

Yeah, not sure what to make of this. My first thought was "Couldn't it just come down to people preferring Trump to a 'socialist'?" But the fact that so many people voted seems to mean there was more fervor - all these people didn't go out just to cast a ho-hum vote. Right?
