Not a chance, the U21 side and full England team are woeful, there isn't one world class English footballer in the world today, not one. What have Germany done when in the same boat? They play simple, tight and disciplined football. Why can't our players and managers do this?

The same England who were embarrassingly outplayed by Italy in Euro 2012 (regardless of the draw through pens) and consequently Spain disassembled Italy, who looked impressive, up until that point.

Factor in the likes of Brazil, Argentina etc?

...

No.

No.

Maybe if there was a UK team the chances would be more than .1%

even if England had a quality team of players, the refs will do everything they can to ensure Brazil win this WC

I really don't see that to be the case.

The team that Fifa is spreading cheeks for is Germany. Been like this for 4 years. Ever since Germany started bailing out loose spending europeans.

England's national football team are useless, cant hold the ball thus just using the long ball tactic to get them out of trouble, no technical ability whatsoever.

Format of the competition, number of teams in the competition, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico, Nigeria, Cameroon, 35C+ heat etc etc

But yeah, other than that no difference :)

Having said all that I of course will fully expect them to win when the competition begins, and will be genuinely surprised and outraged when they crash out. That's every Englishman's birth right.

That's normally the press who big up England during the World Cup and the Euro's, we punch above our weight and are a quarter final's team at best.

Recent years have been wretched. Lots of talent but little to show. Yes, the team got cheated in 2006, by that diving primadonna, but otherwise the problem is with the managers. Probably the marketing demands on the English team that force managers to field marketable talents with no chemistry on the pitch. Back when Gerrard was playing next to Barry, there was actual chemistry, but Lampard didn't have a place there, and it was a big deal. Why? Shouldn't have been. Team shouldn't have let John Terry near the pitch ever again after he fucked Woodbridge's ex. Capello didn't have a set of balls on him to tell Terry and his media fans to go fuck themselves.

I think John Terry done the dirty on Wayne Bridge's ex girlfriend?

Greece played with discipline in 2004. Something England cant do for 90 minutes.

Xander makes a good point to about Gerrard and Lampard. They can't play together. Yet they persisted with it for years and it never worked. Not once

It's a shame Portugal are not going to make it , would have nice to see ronaldo naymar and messi competing for the golden boot.

More chance of my beloved Bolton Wanderers winning the Champions League than England winning the WC next year.

Gotta say, Nope, can't see it happening.

right now english football is a few steps behind a lot of europe and maybe more.

the EPL is still one of the best leagues in the world but there needs to be some big changes in regard to local talent, youth management and development. both at club and national level.
