Cool surprise. Like most games from the Genesis era, I wasn’t aware it was originally an arcade game until many years later. Will be cool to see the arcade rom running on the hardware.

Yay!

What are the plans for the audio part?
Any gameplay changes, or is it going to be a straight port from the later 2P version?

Straight port as usual. 2 player mode already works. Music will just be adpcm streams like previous ports.

Ah - my question was more about the soundtrack you'll pick.
PC engine CD for neo geo CD I guess, but for the cart version?
Megadrive arguably sounds better than the arcade... but sounds like Megadrive.

Game is playable end to end, just music and a shit ton of layer priority issues after the first level.

Okay, how the hell did i miss this? This looks great and i hope to see more Toaplan games on the Neo Geo :D

As long as it doesn't blinks red flashes all the time, it's already a big improvement over the PCB one.

Any chance of an official release btw? The IP holders have been actively using those Toaplan licences, including for retro releases. We got Tiger Heli for 7800, so why not?

Actually, with how well Tiger-Heli was received on the Atari 7800 + the other three Toaplan games that are coming to the 7800 (Slap Fight, Flying Shark, and Twin Cobra), it would be cool to see Zero Wing being licensed and released in a physical format for the Neo Geo.

The former Toaplan staff are very receptive of what fans do with their old works.

Does the NeoCD version work on the NeoSD? I downloaded your NG GoldenAxe so will give it a try.
