Template:GameInfoboxSAR: Search and Rescue is a run and gun game released by SNK in 1990 for arcades. It was SNK's last game to use rotary joysticks and also their last game before moving to the MVS arcade board.

Story

A pioneer exploration vessel suddenly disappears from it's course. After a long search, the wrecked vessel is finally found, so two members of the Search and Rescue team are sent down to investigate the cause for the ship's crash.

Gameplay

Gameplay is very similar to other SNK's rotary stick games like Ikari Warriors and Guerrilla War, where the main joystick controls the player's movement while the rotary joystick controls aiming. One button is used for for shooting while the second button is used for dodge rolling. You can pick up extra weapons like machine guns, flamethrowers and rocket launcher. Enemies include all sorts of zombies, mutants, robots and aliens, some of them clearly inspired by the Xenomorphs from the Alien franchise.
