Tried on my CMVS and 2 different 4 slot cabs. Cart will only crosshatch.

Contacts are very clean, used eraser and 91% alcohol. It is probably now the cleanest cart I have.

I could not find any broken traces. However, all of the solder joints appeared to be extremely weak. I reflowed all of the solder joints. No dice.

I don't see any corrosion, rust, nothing. Boards look excellent. Any ideas on where to go from here?

Try to seat the cart not all the way, maybe 1/2 to 3/4 of the way, I had a metal slug cart that did that a lot. Or, put the cart in and before you apply power tilt the cart forward towards you a bit. I know it sounds crazy, but it worked for me.

Panda: Just now tried your suggestion, but still crosshatch on this one.

IDCHAPPY: Yes, I tried just the boards with no case, same thing :(

I promise any cart you bought from me was cleaner than that Blue's Journey ;)

Sucks to hear it bit the big one, though... Do you have a UNIBIOS in that setup? Can you drop into the CRC check and see what's reporting? Is it even identifying the cart in there?

Hey Rabbit,

yeah your carts are clean, but this one got the full bath :)

I do have a unibios, but it doesn't even see the cart in there at all so no way to run a crc.

Hi,

This sounds like a P1 problem, if you have oportunity try to read/verify it. Also could be a problem of the LS'

Two people here with the same thought. P1 seems to be dead, but fortunately is replaceable with an eprom.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

The cart is being sent to Xian Xi. If it can be fixed, he can do it!
