Hello everyone. No idea if I have used the right subforum/it is even wanted here, but a try can't hurt.
We have programmed a website so that you can measure yourself and have a clearer overview of your progress.

So far we've mainly used the website with our friends (with a few exceptions) and we wouldn't mind if the site was used more internationally. Anyone can create an account and enter their scores and photos or videos themselves. We try to keep it as simple as possible.

On the website are mainly arcade games plus a few GameBoy games with the focus on arcade games.

It's constantly being expanded, new games are being added and you are welcome to give input.

We would be happy to have a few more scores/competition on the website.

(Emulators and misters are of course not welcome, there are already enough other sites for that)

Having users have just 3 letters will be just as annoying as in a real arcade when you run across multiple people who use the same initials.

I've never met 2 people who have the same one, but if it would actually cause a problem, we can adjust it.

Well how much time have you or do you spend in an actual arcade? I would consider it uncommon but it does happen. In fact, in my earlier years I had to change my HS initials because of this. At the current arcade I go to, I can immediately think of two sets of initials that represent multiple people. In a real life scenario, people either choose to not care or change their initals. On a website it could turn out differently.

In the meantime we have made a few improvements. Among other things, you can now see how you have improved from score to score over time, you can compare yourself with other users and many new games have been added. CPS2, Taito F3 and Naomi.

If entering FUC auto corrects to CAP or NEO I’m in!
an AAA = CAP or SNK?
Would actually be a funny idea, but probably won't be realised at the moment :D

Unfortunately, the arcade scene in Switzerland wasn't big and had been dead for a long time. I'll probably only get 5 hours. In Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo I played for a total of about 25 hours. Apart from that, I spent a lot more time in the arcade I helped run for over a year.

I never encountered any problems with the names during that time.

I understand your point, but at the moment when most of the names are still free, the effort for a not yet existing problem is a bit too big to redesign the whole site, but we have already thought about how to implement it.

After the website didn't run as fast as it should, some things were revised and now it runs faster & more stable. There have been a few new features and for certain games it is now possible to view dipsettings so that everyone uses the same settings and you don't have to search the internet for the dips. Not all games are up to date yet, but they will be added bit by bit.

In the meantime, many games have been added. Both MVS and ‘normal’ Jamma games.

An option for racing games should be added soon, so that you can also compete in best times per track.

Many forums have something like this, confusing and each one for itself. With so few people actually still playing their games, it's better to have a page where different people can add their scores... and everyone can upload their own scores & the ranking is created automatically - even across games with a general ranking.
Besides, the website has some additional gimmicks that aren't available on forums.

Just my opinion...

I have a WORLD'S record as recognized by Twin Galaxies. That's all I need :buttrock:
I had one at one time. Wintertime is slow at work so I usually am not too stressed from that and it’s well wintertime so one year I played Circus Charlie on my DS and PlayStation (I wanted a game that was handheld as well to practice on) and beat the posted score on PlayStation on Konami Arcade Classics and submitted it.

There were like four or five scores and the high score wasn’t as insane as the arcade scores but it still was a challenge. I did have to practice for a while to get the score I did. I had some guy from Michigan contact me through Facebook years later saying he was going to beat my score and if I wanted to post another score and I said good luck I’m done with it, so he did. Twin Galaxies updated their website and the scores were removed last time I checked years ago but I did get a nifty certificate at the time.

Cool. Circus Charlie was one of the nastier games, especially in the higher levels. Some of the rounds were simple but getting the timing down on a few like the trapeze would drive me insane since it took patience. I know there were lots of hidden points in that game. Got to admit Konami made a great set of classic games in the 80's like Time Pilot, Gyruss, Track & Field, Frogger and Mikie just to name a very few.

The jumping trampoline levels with the fire breathers got so rough with the the dolphins I think they were as it went along I usually just speed run those, that was my hardest level that and the horse riding got me sometimes on later levels, the rest I mostly had not as many issues with, so I would speed run the jumping later on and then get my points from the other levels. I couldn’t practice those because the dolphins didn’t appear until later levels and by that time I was playing for a while to get to that point and didn’t reach that every time I played, so I couldn’t get the timing right.

I liked the variety of the challenge that’s one of the reasons I chose it as each of the levels had different timings

But you didn't tell me which game you're talking about.
It's probably not clear to you as you're from Italy but he's upset you don't already know. Quite frankly I am also upset about this, maybe you could find some humanity over a pizza or something and come back once you've developed some respect for THE WARLORD OF CLOW!!!!

I am The CLOW MASTER and if I told you the game(s) in question, my human identity which only a handful of people know of would be revealed. That takes all the fun and mystery out of it (though I've left enough clues here in the past on who I really am ;) )

(serious answer)

I apologize in advance if my answer should be perceived as unpleasant, but this is not intended.

On Twin Galaxies there are only Twin Galaxies high scores. None of these are true world high scores in the Neo Geo world. My question was asked only because I already knew this concept and wanted to understand on which game or games you deluded yourselves into thinking you had a world record.

The only Western (non-Japanese) players to have achieved a world record in the Neo Geo world that still stands today are:

Matt "BBH" Hall with Shock Troopers;
Marco Gemant" Frattino with Blue's Journey;
Avii (I don't know the real name) with Neo Turf Master;
Benjamin "Ben Shinobi" Bouloch with Metal Slug (category with autofire);
Aozaki Ange (I don't know the real name) with Metal Slug (category without autofire);
Aozaki Ange (I don't know the real name) with Metal Slug 2;
Soh (I don't know the real name) ) with Garou Mark of the Wolves (2 characters);
Daniele "Rax" cavazza with Ghost Pilots (category without autofire);
Lux with Gururin (mode promotion);
Nicola "SFC" Matteuzzi with Kunio no Nekketsu Toukyuu (Super Dodgeball);
Paolo Colman with Neo Geo Cup '98;
Paolo Colman with Super Sidekicks 3;
Lux with Puzzle De Pon;
Francesco "Fran" Barni with Robo Army;
Nicola "SFC" Matteuzzi with Sengoku;
Project A-KO (I don't know the real name) with Aero Fighters 2;
Soh (I don't know the real name) with World Heroes 2 Jet (1 character).
