i think the home cart prices are getting to high. how would u like to pay $200 us for a home cart. well it wont happen if u keep buying them for $349 plus shipping.
i think its time we get what we deserve for a decent price. as of now i am not buying slug 5 untill i feel that the price has been lowerd to an ammount that i feel is worth my time and effort. i think if everybody boy cots then we will get what we want.we have strength in numbers it will take time for people to see the light.

That's stupid. Why? Because if nobody buys them to begin with they won't make them at all. Shawn will have no reason to fund US releases if they don't make him money. If they'd continue to release Japanese versions the price would be raised even higher because no english release means 500 carts less out there, so that makes them more scarce. You do realize you own a Neo Geo right? It's never been cheap to own one and keep your collection up to date. Plus it's a collector driven market. Looks like it's a bout time for you to stick to ports.

I don't think it will work, SNKP don't care about it.
They know those hardcore fans will buy it even if it cost $400.
If you don't buy, they don't produce.
Supply and demand.

If you want to get better prices, theres a few options;
1)Get the MVS, its cheaper and the artworks(inserts) of AES sucks nowadays. Looks no difference now.

2)Don't buy new AES carts on release.
AS times goes by, the price will drop to a reasonable range.

3)Buy a used copy from people who don't really like the game after they bought the game on release.

4)Play the roms
5)Buy Bootlegs MVS if original not available.

There it is right there. No matter if I agreed with you or not, SNKP sells many more units world wide at this price. A boycott would do nothing unless you could convince all the Japanese and etc buyers to do the same... and what do you boycott... KOF03... personally i hate the prices of new AES games also. i really do wish they were cheaper. it was hard enough saving up when new releases were $249 and now with them at $349 it's like "sweet mother of god! why!"

even then though.. it's like.. i can understand paying that much if you're planning to put that game in an arcade/on a route to make money off of it.. but just for personal use?.. i think that's a bit extreme.

so that being said, i normally just wait till the price comes down or just stick to older games.... because for whatever reason they're selling em so high it's still a service they're providing for us that isn't a "need", but a "want" so if we do want the games then we have to settle for what they want to charge for them.

First of all, since I am buying Neo Geo games I paid these prices, there were periods when games, new releases did cost about $ 600 over here in Germany.
I remember when I bought Sengoku 3 I paid about $ 550.

Since Neo Geo died out in German stores I ordered in the US and I am paying about $ 200 less since that time. So what else could I want ???

$ 349 is absolutely ok, if you can afford it, it´s good for you, if not, it´s bad luck I´d say.

And boycotting will lead to nothing, so stop thinking about this idea

This is a PUBLIC FORUM, but it is also a PRIVATE ESTABLISHMENT. You can be censored based on whatever the powers the be want to censor you on.

Also, you're thinking struck most as rather stupid and ironic- supply and demand are what drive the Neo Geo community. The people here paid a lot of money for their AES's, and DROPPING the price would basically suck for them.

Besides, with no new AES's released, there is little supply and a lot of demand, so your idea is totally futile. If SNKP decides to make more and reopen the supply, the prices will drop, but that's the only way it's gonna happen.

Not that Kid Aphex being a mod would be a good thing. I say let you speak your mind, but I expect to see earfulls on an issue like this. Kid Aphex as a mod would be the worst thing since the oro.com merger either way.
