Ok, does anyone know a place that takes pre-orders on the Limited Edition Akira DVD? Keep in mind that I'm looking for the tin Limited Edition not the regular box, Special Edition.

I recieved a notice at Amazon.com for a preorder, I am also sure suncost will take preorders as well.

I will more then likely pick it up at best buy for cost when it comes out. Wish I could have caught it in the theater though. Well at least I got to see blood in a theater like setting. Although I was disappointed in that movie.

I hope you get one at some point. Either that or I'll have to try and find a copy.

Me too. Movies should not be that fucked up. I couldn't understand it when I first saw it 6 years ago and I can't understand it now. Yet another overhyped POS.

hey iori.
i can understand why the movie makes
very little sense..
to anyone..
i wont go into my first experiences of
AKIRA.
but to say that the movie is
a super condensed version of
umm..
a couple thousand page jp manga story
by katsuhiro ohtomo..
a master draftsman if there ever was one.
the movie only takes the major points
from most of the series...
the end result being a very. confusing
storyline full of holes..
that almost cant be answered by the original
manga due to some deviations from
manga<--->movie
that were made
i ve watched the movie dozens of times
but still kinda get lost ..
i still marvel it though
despite its age ..
(over 10yrs)
it is an incredible piece of work
that is seldom passed in quality
by todays multimillion dollar movie industry
eh.. imho
