Hey:

Just spent easily 45 minutes trying, with no luck. Came close a couple times, both times matching him at a level 4, with Terry and Haohmaru. I'm tapping out for tonight, it seems damn near impossible.

I better unlock him for beating him, because I swear to christ that if I finally drop him and get no rewards, I'm going on a rampage.

Beating G.rugal is tricky.if u use a groove with rolling enabled, its easy but if u use a groove with no rolling, your at a huge disadvantage.i've beaten G.rugal on level 8 without continuing.he is afraid of that roll and throw tactic.he falls for it a lot.juz be careful though since he could pop out a super anytime u make a mistake.

i feel that beating shin akuma is a little harder cuz he keeps throwing fireballs all the time.if u juz stand there,he would throw u.he loves using that hurricane kick comboed into the DP tactis a lot.he is deadly as well.

the reason why both bosses are tough is cuz their damage is freakin high and their combos could take the whole energy bar if u are using a ratio 1 fighter!

I defeated him... in the very first round I fought him (was using the default skill, 3 then), I almost took him out with my ratio 2 Cammy. I was thinking, "This isn't so bad". Then the tables turned and he beat my ass for about ten matches. I was using a balanced team of Cammy and Kyosuke the entire time (I like Cammy's new voice, btw). I finally took him out in a final round with Kyosuke after a Double KO a few matches before that.

And yes, after you defeat him he is playable, although he takes more damage and gives less. The CPU-controlled version seems to be closer to ratio 8.

I'm wondering if there are more hidden characters. There may be one or two more... look at the blank diamond in the middle of the Training Char. Select Screen. It's similar in design to the diamond on the Mode Select screen that later becomes Groove Edit. It would be great to see two more characters.

God Rugal can be really annoying, and I managed to get my first win on him by using a R4 Blanka. If you think he's going to do his Reppuken (low FB), use the HP rolling attack. And you can beat his Air Dark Force by jumping up and using MK.

We were both down to pretty low levels of health, and I thought (gut feeling) he was going to toss out a Reppuken so I did a lvl 3 Direct Lightning super and fried him with it ^_^

Of course, a wrong guess would mean eating Genocide Heaven super >:P

Here is a
link to The Madman's Cafe. Look for the secret listing at the end the 9/17 news, which also has all of the conditions for fighting the bosses.

I could beat G.Rugal with a Hoahmaru at ratio 4 and a groove with chain comboes (groove A - right? butI used a custom EX). Anyhow, that fierce slash is pretty hard to connect on it's own, but when you use chain comboes, it's going to slip in through a simple LP,MP,HP combo, or more rationally, a MP,HP combo. Haohmaru's range is so great that you can attack from afar without getting close enough to his damn double genocide cutter (which G.Rugal will often whiff trying to retaliate).

I finally beat them the second time I fought them(S.Gouki and G.Rugal). I beat rugal using Hibiki and gouki with that guy/mai lookalike.(can't remember her name now). They're not really hard it's just they take off so much energy. GEEZ, they hit poor Yun three times and he was TOAST!

Anyone notice that when you play at S.Gouki he takes massive damage like back in SFA. I think he takes 150% damage compared to other characters. I initially thought I could use him to unlock G.Rugal, but G.Rugal ended up tossing 2 gouki's outof the match (instead of just one as usual).

Alright, I owned G. Rugal's ass last night on level eight, single match mode with King. Here are some pointers. Avoid jumping at all costs. The number of times you will catch him to the number of times he will plant that Genocide Cutter in your ass, well, it just isn't worth it. The only exception is if you knock him down in the corner. If you do that, you can usually jump and stick out a kick before he gets up and stop his cutter. The time when he is most vulnerable is coming out of the teleport. I usually follow him, and right as it ends, pepper him with low jabs. Anyting more, like a strong or fierce, and he will catch you. It also has a lot to do with what groove he is using. You will be facing a serious battle if he is using P or K groove. If he is using one of those, try to stay away until his meter runs out.

Here are some more tips to go along with SoloFenris' tips. Like he said -- avoid jumping! I fight with a three person team usually, I haven't gone solo yet. I found God Rugal to be VERY susceptible to hurricane kicks. This means Evil Ryu is a good choice because his hurricane kick juggles ... and Ken is a good choice because if hit relatively closely, it will continue smacking him. I've never had him retaliate following a hurricane kick. They also go over his Reppuken. When you knock him down from a hurricane kick, get some distance (3/8 screen?) and time a fireball into him for when he stands. I also find that Ken jump kicks him very well, but it may just be my approach. You can also try standing kicks. I'm also a very big user of hurricane kicks.

He also likes to be swept ... after teleports is a good time, or any time you can catch him around max sweep range. If he gets in close, tap some buttons so he can't throw or grab you.

Using Rock as the third member of my team, I found again, sweeping, staying crouched and out of the air ... and hit him with Raging Storms when he teleports or if you can slip under him when he misses. I did this on S-groove, which has the blinking red power bar when it gets low, allowing for this sort of insanity. You can also hit him with Rising Tackles since you're crouched down ... he likes to be hit by those when he misses and when he teleports.

By the way, thanks Riotoftheblood for the help ... I found them on my own with a little playing, though!
