Are Hantarex monitors any good?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm still new to this side of things.

I can't get a cab due to space restrictions at the moment, so I'm looking for a monitor that will do what I want instead. I've heard good things about the Hantarex ones, but I'm looking for more feedback on them.
I'm thinking of getting the 21" CT EQ/3 btw.

Could any Euro-based members recommend any other monitors that might do what I'm looking for?

Criteria:
RGB SCART & S-Video inputs
Horizontal/Vertical size adjusters
Nice flat side for flipping :D

Thanks in advance.. :)

Cheers :)
I'm definitely thinking about getting one from them, their office is less than 10 minutes drive away which makes things nice and easy for a change. Hopefully they're prepared to haggle if I pay cash :D

another dumb question..

If I leave it permamently in "vertical mode" (ie on its side), will that cause any screen damage, like it would do to a TV set?

Dunno who told you that, but leaving a TV on its side won't do any damage to the screen. When you put a TV or a monitor on its side you're simply altering its magnetic field but this is a temporary and reversible state, you just have to degauss it. You should rather consider another thing: the monitor you're thinking to get is of the closed-frame type and its air vents are designed for horizontal orientation. This means that when you put it on its side it may suffer from bad heat dissipation. What you can do is either drill further air vents on its case in the appropriate points (keep in mind that hot air tends to go upwards) or limit the time the monitor is on.

Ta. :)
I can't remember exactly who told me that either, I'd definitely been led to believe that long time vertical usage would lead to un-reversible colour bleeding problems on TV's.

So if I keep it stored the normal way up, and don't play it for hours on end in vertical mode, everything should be ok, yeah?

Shouldn't be too much of a problem, I rarely get a chance to play for more than an hour at a time anyway. I'd rather not start drilling holes in a new monitor too quickly ;)

I keep my old Commodore 1084 almost constantly on its side and never had any problems and this monitor is of course quite old and obsolete. The CT EQ/3 have the same CRT as the Polo series, so as far as the tube goes they can be considered arcade monitors just as well.
Yeah, just avoid overlong gaming sessions (a couple of hours are OK) and everything should be fine.

i had a 19" hantarex monitor in my arcade cabinet.

while i did have problems and eventually the fly back blew up (note this probably has nothing to do with the hantarex name, its probably because of the asshoel that sold it to me) but overall the picture quality was amazing. a very dark tube, perfect contrast.
