At what age does one stop growing?

I have been wondering about this lately.

I'm 22, and this past year I've grown about an inch or so. I'm 6'1 now, was 6'0 a year ago

I'm pretty sure it's due to me exercising and eating a lot better than I used to in the last few years. I used to be a couch potato basically.

So it's led me to wonder if maybe I'll keep on growing a bit more still (even if minimum).


I've read it varies from person to person but I've heard quite a few times some men keep growing until like 25.

I know it's different for men and women too. Women stop growing at a much younger age.

it really relies on your hormones and the periosteum layer on your bones.

The periosteum is the layer of bone that actually grows them out. Eventually this layer dies off, and you will never grow again (naturally). For most people, this layer still exists in small amounts till mid twenties.

If you are unusually short, and without dwarfism, you need to take hormones relatively quick. Because some things cant be done without proper cells in place.

I was pretty short when I entered high school...like maybe 5'6".
Stayed this way, until the summer between my junior and senior years, then my growth spurt started. By the time I was 20, I was 6'4".
Now I'm like 6'4" 1/2...and I hate the way everything is built for fucking short people.
