Biggest reason I hate XMas

I was all set to go buy Metal Gear 2 today....today is money day. My mom kept trying to talk me out of it, saying "you shouldn't buy things like hat near XMas, you don't know if someone is getting it for you..." And I told her I didn't care, that I'd waited along time for this game, and that for the last 6 months I'd been bombarded by images of it, and that last month I didn't have enought to get it. Now I did, and I didn't want to miss the boat again. I told her I was going to get it, and no one could convince me otherwise. Then she told me:

"Your grandma already got it for you!" You can't go buy it, it's only another 3 1/2 weeks!"

3 1/2 weeks my ass, it might as well be next XMas......

ok, just go to some place that has a 1 month return policy, buy the game and return it when your grandmother gets it for you.

I hear that. All the bills come due, all the good games come out (usually, although this year is an exception), all the temps plummet, and layoffs are wide-spread.

Just like New Year's, Thanksgiving, my birthday, and any other holiday. Christmas is just another spot on the calendar to me.

Hell, I'm working this Christmas.

I hate the idea that we have to get gifts for everyone at Christmas time. If I see something that I think a family member or friend would like or could use, I get it for them as a gift regardless of the time of year. The false sense of "Peace On Earth And Goodwill Towards Men" makes me want to puke sometimes. That being said...
