So I'm happy it's been picked up for a fifth season I am however sad that it's to be it's final season

Also I can't stop watching that video

Haven't watched the show, but I think its great that these premium cable TV shows aren't afraid to end their shows on high notes instead of running them into the ground. 5 or 6 seasons seems like the golden number and anything beyond is where things get stale. Very few shows remain good for that long

lol wut?

Oh you mean like the real DEA, which is in no way corrupt?

edit: That Stupid Bitch video is so hilarious. His bitch comments are always a favorite.

I was pretty wasted when I wrote that. What I meant to say is that I hope that the DEA chief isn't corrupt (because of that photo). Stuff like that might work with other tv shows/movies, but BB is better than that.

It would be totally cheesy and cliche if that happened.

Indeed, get in, make your point and wow us and then leave with the cash and the accolades

Just finished watching "Hermanos".
This might be, imo, the best episode of the season. The parking lot scene alone made this episode amazing. My jaw dropped and heart raced through out that whole scene.
Gus was awesome as well, especially the scene in the elevator after talking to the DEA. Liked that look he gave Walt when he told him to "Do it.".
The only downside I can think of was that the final flashback was predictable and kinda dragged a bit. But overall, it was a great ride from start to finish.

Was definitely an interesting episode, finally getting to see more behind Gus, but for the questions they answered, they definitely left more open (like what exactly was he in Chile).

Thinking of that though, given we finally saw more of Gus' past, I really want to see if they will close out more of why Walt kind of got left out of Gray Matter. They've kind of left that behind since season 2, but it felt unresolved.

Episode 8 was so fucking nuts.

Seeing into Saul's inner child? Priceless.

What about the part when Walt is talking to that other cancer patient? Brutal.

Background on Hector, Gus, and los Pollos Hermanos is all very much appreciated.

Brutal episode.

I really liked the latest episode too. I'm starting to like Gus so much as a opponent for Walt I hope he doesn't get killed, but I find it hard to imagine them co-existing for much longer. Guess we'll see.

Same feeling.

This episode is making the entire thing build up as if Gus has been working toward this end all his life. Thing is, Gus would owe the entire revenge process to Walt then, because Walt and Jesse led Hank to kill Tuco Salamanca, which put Hector Salamanca in the old folks home. Basically, Walt has been drawing out Gus's mortal enemies - and I think very soon, Walt will draw out the Cartel when they seek him out to cook for them, which he will probably consider since he sees Gus as his main threat. Gus is going to try to gain his freedom from the cartel by playing Walt and Jesse off of them. I wonder if the Cartel will do the same thing to Walt and Jesse that they did to Gus and his "partner." BTW - was it just me, or is Gus homosexual?

"Never make the same mistake twice." As in never fall in love twice. Gus seems very calculating with no emotional attachments. This would explain why.

Same thing caught my eye. The brothers were not blood related, one being much younger and rescued from a slum by Gustavo. Gustavo's reaction to his death was above the top for someone who is just a business partner. He should have expected the worst to happen having known what the cartel is capable of.

Spoiler:
Gus fucked Ted.

In all seriousness, I didn't really get that vibe. If his character is indeed gay, I hope they follow The Wire's direction when it comes to gay characters.

Above the top. Above. The. Top.

So crying out in despair as you have a foot on your neck and are forced to look into the eyes of your best friend, who has just been blasted through the ears, and whose head is leaking blood everywhere, that is somehow above the top?

Just sayin. I think thats a pretty average response for a person who is 6-inches from carnage the likes of which they have most likely never seen before, even if it was a low level cartel goon getting the same treatment.

He could be gay. Sure. Fuckin Ren and Stimpy are gay now, and so is Dumbledore, so who knows? This is the 21st century.

Pretty much my response, thought never even crossed my mind until it was brought up here. Maybe that's the angle he was going for, but I wouldn't think Vince Gilligan would just throw that in there for no reason. He always seems deliberate in a good way on how the characters develop. This just seemed to be showing the impact of the cartel carnage.

Don Elio and the cartel already knew him from his Chilean exploits, so he has obviously been in the drug game previously. He is sure to have seen other killings and issues that arise from meth peddling. Yes, it's dramatic to have his "brother" killed right in front of his eyes, but the reaction was not in line with his calm demeanor that was evident even in these flashbacks. Over and above the top.

It's just a thought worth pondering, especially since we have not seen any wife or children, not even small pictures in the backgrounds of the episode where he invites Walt for dinner. Doesn't matter what his orientation is, we just know he is a sociopath determined to have everything firmly within his control.

The relationship between Walt and Jesse is similar to the partner and Gus. Might be something there too. Something where history repeats, and after Gus gets his revenge on the cartel, he gets his chance to kill Walt and make Jesse his slave, just like it happened with him and the Cartel.

Good episode. Thought Skyler was the best part of this episode. Looks like she will also be doing business with Ted (and launder the money through his company).

I was pretty positive that Gus was going to replace Walt with Jesse when it comes to the cooking, but that theory was shut down during that dinner scene.

The fight at the end was pretty rough. Seeing Walt and Jesse's friendship break down after all they've been through was kind of sad.

Can't wait to see what happens next week. Sucks we only got 4 more episodes to go this season.

I loved it. Walt is a demeaning motherfucker and they were only friends in the loosest sense of the word.

Jessie still calls him Mr. White. Yet Walt has no respect for Jessie. He only uses Jessie to protect his own ass.

I need him, he needs me, we come as a team, etc.

I was stoked when Jessie beat his fucking ass and cheapshot leg pulled him at the end.

"Can you walk?"

"Yeah"

"Then leave and never come back"

Fucking ice cold.

Fair enough. But didnt Gus mention his family at one point, a couple season back??

I think that's just Vince Gilligan's style. He tends to only introduce things of consequence or meaning, not for filler. Why do we need to see Gus' family? Right now, it's all about the cartel, Walt & Jesse, and everything going on with the business on all the sides. If there's a reason to show the family, they will, but I can't see them being brought in just to satisfy a curiosity.

Yeah, I agree. A friend of mine put it this way: Walt is a evil person who thinks he's good, and Jesse is a (basically) good guy who thinks he's evil. And Walt considers him family, I think, but he's also a sociopath. So it's true he never really had any respect for him.

I am really, really wondering what's gonna happen. Walt's position gets more tenuous all the time — something's gotta give.

On the flipside of the same token, I have total sympathy with Walt in the sense that he got a raw deal in life (his former research team, for one) and, by being an introvert, he made it much worse for himself.

However, he has turned into a BAD man.

He had to. He was going to live a pitiful, boring life otherwise.

She provided a promising foil to Skylar in the first couple of seasons.

Moving into the heart of the cartel tells me that the Gus storyline may wrap up this season. Perhaps spending the final season trying to battle the renewed force of the DEA? With Hank recuperated and Marie thrust back into the family drama as Skylar turns into the "bad sister"?

Maybe I have The Shield stuck in my head and am hoping for a similar final season conclusion as everything comes to a head with law enforcement.

I never saw the shield.

But yeah, I see the use of Marie, but she's annoying. Whatever.
