Also just try unplugging the harness and plugging it back in first. I would just reseat all connections to make sure it's connected.
I did do that. It seemed like a logical thing to do to me. I once bought a broken PC Engine Duo and fixed it just by unplugging stuff on the board and plugging them back in. That was a happy time! The Neo isn't giving me a happy time...

Unfortunately, to do continuity tests and switch parts if I need to, requires me going to the shop to buy stuff. めんどくさい...

Either way it's best that you pick up a multimeter that does a "beep" continuity test. Without one it may be hard to figure out what exactly is wrong with the Neo CD.

Old thread bump!

I solved the problem by throwing the Neo Geo CD console in question out and just buying a new one for about $5. Easiest fix ever!

Sooooo... are there just 5$ Neo CD's littered all over Japan, or are you all just lucky?
